These shutters are unfinished wood, and as such they can be stained using any wood stain. For exterior applications we would highly recommend using a stain that is specifically rated for exterior use.
Our Americraft Shutters are crafted from Hawaiian Mango wood, a naturally durable and eco-friendly hardwood. For painted shutters, we apply a dual-step priming process to make painting easier and enhance longevity. Please note that our unfinished option does not include priming, allowing you full flexibility for custom finishing. If you plan to paint your shutters a dark color, be aware that prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause warping. With proper maintenance and strategic placement to minimize sun exposure, Americraft shutters can provide many years of beauty and performance on your home.
These shutters are horrible, I would stay clear of them. I have had mine for just over a year, and I live in Texas. They started to peel a few months ago and now they are even worse.
For these sizes, you can expect each shutter to weigh over 15 pounds. For a pair, the total weight will be over 30 pounds.
These shutters are made from Hawaiian mango wood.
I just called Ekena Millwork myself and they are sending me touch up paint! They have the exact color so it will match. She said they use Behr paint, and eggshell is the sheen. Color Black. I just went ahead and bought it from Ekena.
Thank you for your interest in this product! Based on your description, it sounds like you had vinyl shutters. Wood holds up better than vinyl in conditions like those you described. It won't warp in the sun. Over time, any painted surface will start to fade. However, unlike vinyl, wood shutters can be painted when they eventually fade. You would not have to fully replace them. Best of luck on your project!
Thank you for your interest in this product! To install these shutters into brick you will need an electric drill, 1/8” carbide drill bit, screws, and a hammer. Good luck on your project!
There are a few different ways these can be installed on stucco, following the standard installation process which can be seen below: https://images.thdstatic.com/catalog/pdfImages/69/6960bf6d-f0b6-41f5-826b-eddb9a41ea5f.pdf Thank you!
