- Durable and easy to maintain: simply spot clean by gently blotting out minor stains with mild detergent or carpet cleaner
- Non-shed, fade and stain resistant: expertly machine-woven from enhanced synthetic durable fibers that are fade and stain resistant and have minimal shedding in a 0.25 in. thick pile
- Pets and kid-friendly: safe for everyday indoor high foot traffic areas
- Available in multiple sizes and/or colors
- Digital images and product dimensions are as accurate as possible: variance of 3 in. is standard; patterns may vary depending on shape and size selected
- Vacuum regularly and spot clean; for hard-to-remove stains, professional rug cleaning is recommended; rotating your rugs every 3 - 6 months will protect against uneven wear from foot traffic and furniture weight; avoid direct sunlight as it will cause the colors in your area rug to fade over time; place your area rug away from direct sunlight whenever possible
- Packing and shipping of your rug may cause temporary creases; these surface waves are not imperfections or damages and will gradually recede; back-rolling or reverse rolling is the fastest and easiest way to remove creases in your area rug; allow ample time for your rug to settle, these creases and waves will normally flatten out
- Please Note: The digital images and product dimensions on our website are as accurate as possible. Due to differences in computer monitors, some rug colors may vary slightly. Questions & Answers
Is it likely to attract cat scratching
how much does the 10x10 rug weigh?
The Safavieh Courtyard Natural/Cream 10 ft. x 10 ft. Square Chevron rug (CY8022-03012-10SQ) weighs approximately 38 lbs.
I purchased a 9’ round rug. Is there a wrong side and a right side? It seems like I could use either or. True?
The backing of this rug contains latex, rug pad (sold separately) recommended to help prevent shifting and sliding.
This rug from the Courtyard Collection is not reversible. Place the side with the label facing down. If there’s no label, simply use the side with the brighter, more vibrant design and color as the front. Thank you for your question.
I am looking for a rug to travel with. Think RV or van life. Does this rug lay flat easily or will it need to time to lay flat at the edges?
Hi, the rug will settle these edges or creases will normally flatten out. Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future.
Hello Jenn, thank you for your interest in our rugs. It is a good choice to pick an outdoor rug such as the Courtyard Collection since you will be moving around so often and may experience humid environments. The rugs will first arrive with creases, but you can easily get rid of those by back rolling the rug (opposite of the creases). We highly recommend using a rug pad or corner rug tape to keep the rug flat and stable on the ground.
Is the red/cream rug a true red?
Hello Donna and thank you for your interest in our rugs. We do our best to identify the colors of every product as accurately as possible but there can be instances when color variations lead to subjective interpretations of particular color tones. We recommend ordering the smallest size so you can view it at hand and return it back to Home Depot.
I?m looking for a rug for my 2nd floor apartment deck. I?m wondering how this might hold up with rain and snow. I?m mostly concerned about mold/mildew
I can’t speak for snow because I live in Florida but I have this rug on my back porch and front porch. It is often wet due to rain and people dripping wet from our backyard pool. Absolutely no mildew or mold. I I’ve had it for sometime now and it is holding up extremely well. Highly recommend
Is this rug reasonably soft for bare feet?
No, indoor/outdoor carpet is made of a tuff fiber to withstand outdoor use and is usually course. Mike
Please describe the color natural. Is it more orange or tan?
Thank you for your question. The color Natural is close to tan. Please be advised color is subjective. Please be aware there may be a dye lot variance. Rugs from different production timeline will look slightly different when compared next to each other. Due to differences in monitor size & screen resolution, rugs may appear slightly different in your browser than they do in person.

Your feedback is really helpful, and we’ll be sharing it with our team to improve. If you haven’t already, please feel free to reach out to our customer care team—we’d be happy to help make this right.
We understand how frustrating it is when an outdoor rug stays wet for too long after rain or cleaning, and when it becomes difficult to keep clean during seasonal conditions like pollen and mud. Your feedback is important, and we’ll be sure to share it with our team for review as we continue improving our outdoor collections.
