10-Light 12 ft. Black Outdoor Plug-In Integrated LED Lantern String-Light

This set of Hampton Bay string lights are replacing my old set on the porch. They look great with the black outer color and the gold inside. They are plastic, so there is no worry of them breaking when they sway in the wind. They can also be used indoors for a decorative touch. Each lantern is 4.4" at the widest point, and 3" tall. There are 3 LEDs inside that shine a warm light downwards and use only 4.6 Watts of electricity. The 10 lanterns are spaced 12" apart and there is a cord with a rain-tight power supply and a 2-prong plug. The only thing I did not like is that there is a short cord, so I need to use an extension cord to reach an outlet. There is a 1-year Limited Warranty.

This is a lightweight string of ten built in LED lights each with its own shade. It’s really for use indoor as it’s rather light and I’m thinking if left outdoors it probably wouldn’t last too long. These are built in LED lights so they can’t be replaced. The lights are bright and I really like the little shade on each one. Two issues: it’s only 1ft from plug to first light and there aren’t any hooks to hang it (I used thin black wire ).

If you have a small patio or railing that requires lighting, this 12 foot string light set (contains 10 lights) is just for you. Each light has a nice bell shape with the lights nestled in the base. The lights emit a soft LED warm glow (no light bulbs). The lights are very stylish -- inside is a nice warm brass color, the outside a matt black finish. I like that they are water resistant and fairly light which makes them easy to hang. The only downside is that the electrical cord is short (you might need an extension cord) and the lights cannot be linked to another set. The directions included specific instructions on how to attach and install the lights, but no worry, they come completely put together – just take out of the box and hang (you might need clips)! Interesting, the directions say not to put the lights near trees which have brown needles or break off easily. I could not test this out, but it is a warning. I will keep my lights on the outside covered deck.

I've had a couple of different string lights before and these were unique... I like the style of them – they look nicer in daylight than most alternatives, and they did a good job positioning the LED deep within the piece so that you get nice lighting without having to stare at a bright bulb. My critiques have to do with the functionality of the string itself though... You cannot daisy chain this to additional strands, and there is nothing on the end to hook it to. So, if you have clips and an area that fits the length perfectly, they will work well... If you want string lights with a little more flexibility, this might not ideal.

Overall this is a nice set. The little lanterns worked well on back porch canopy because they are really lightweight and were able to be held up by the velcro straps on the canopy rather than having to put up with clips. I do note that the light coming from each lantern points straight down rather than broadcasting the light more broadly. For that reason, I think it would showcase best if it was strung up the outdoor steps so the lanterns would shine the light down each step.

These outdoor string lights are great! I love the black outer finish, as well as the pop of matte brass on the inside shade. It makes them fun, without being too gaudy. I was concerned with the weight of these as I have had string lights before that were heavier than they looked, but these are surprisingly lightweight! The functionality of having these be LED bulbs that I will not have to replace will be wonderful, but they do put out a bit more light than I was anticipating. Other than not being able to connect additional sets together, I would definitely recommend these string lights!

Perfect for my little front patio. Its a display patio but I still wanted to add some light there. These are great. They are much larger than thought but that is ok by me. I actually like that the shade is large it helps keep the light focused but also helps so that you are not looking at a bright bulb. So many of the outdoor string lights are an exposed bulb and its too bright. These are not. I do wish there was a bit more cord even if just the plug portion.

These string lights are endowed with a lovely black shade that will work with most architectural styles, as well as a practical led light source. The light source is warm and not overwhelming like most string light sets. The string lights don’t connect to other sets, so I have placed it in a small seating area to give it some warm light for additional functionality and interest. One set was all that was needed. The lights took about 20 minutes to install, including the time to place a couple of hooks into the ceiling.

This outdoor string of lights is made by Hampton Bay, which is a brand that I'm very familiar with. All of the lights on the outside of my house, many on the inside as well as at least one ceiling fan are from Hampton Bay and I haven't been disappointed yet. I like that this outdoor light set is LED and should last many years as well as help save on energy costs. Installation was simple as I approached it the same way as I would a string of Christmas lights. I strung them along a gutter over my patio using Christmas light hooks that just clip onto the gutter, clips not included. I plugged the lights into an extension cord and ran that down a downspout to connect it to an outdoor light timer set to stay on for six hours after sunset. I can either adjust the amount of time they stay on that way or simply turn them on or off via the dial on the timer. I love the way the lights look on or off and they give off a nice amount of light. Not too bright or dim, just right for their intended purpose. If I was going to nitpick, I would simply say that it would be nice if you could connect more than one string together like a Christmas light set, but one set works out perfectly for my application.

Item is almost perfect. Love the fact that it does not have light bulbs to replace, love how they are not overly bright, more of a subtle light instead of that blinding unnatural light you sometimes get from outdoor lights. Feels as though they would hold up for more than one season especially since they don't have bulbs that'll break when the Santa Ana winds come blowing. Also like the style of the shades on these lights. The only downside / gripe I can find with these is that the length from the plug to the first light is very short so more than likely will need an additional extension cord if you don't have an outlet in the eaves of your porch. The other complaint is they have no way to link another set of these together if you wanted to make a long run. With that being said I still thoroughly enjoy the ambience these lights put off.
