The Wellco 0.4 in. x 12 in. Rebar Stakes U Hook Extra Heavy-Duty, Garden Stake Steel Stakes Tent Stakes (16-Pack) are the real deal with the strength of rebar. Being coated in silver makes them attractive to use. Some of the silver coating has already come off but it is not too noticeable for outdoor use. The rebar diameter is too wide to use them with paver edging or for ½" hardware cloth for controlling rabbit damage. The stakes have very sharp points which make them easy to install. With the stakes being metal, it is easy to attach a magnetic level to install them plumb. Our first application was to protect a small agave plant. It was easy just to push the rebar stake into the ground. We will certainly find many other gardening and outdoor uses for them.

They are heavy, and metal, and have stood up to every test our family has given them. They woUld not bend in any way we came up with. If you want something to stay put, and can attach it to these stakes, they will stay put. Besides a number of applications in the garden, the stakes are especially good at holding down a tent against the strongest winds. We used them on each side of a small tree which was leaning to encourage it to grow away from the sidewalk. We used it to keep a tall wood support for our grape arbor in place, that had previously kept leaning the wrong way. And one stake helped a weak leg in the arbor firm up. We still have plenty of stakes left for our original purpose as soon as it arrives. We plan to use them to hold down some agave outdoor metal sculptures. We felt we needed the extra hold these stakes would provide, because the sculptures will be placed high up on a bluff that often gets strong winds off the ocean.

These are very good to secure outdoor decorations for Halloween & Christmas!
