Questions & Answers

I have a RE380T6. The hot water pipes above the tank are rigid and do not have any movement. Will this wye fitting require modifying the hot water pipe length (cutting and shortening the pipes to fit the wye fitting)?
BySep 9, 2026
1 Answer |
Answer This Question

Hello, Yes. Since the Corro-Protec Wye fitting redirects the hot water outlet to the side, rigid piping may need to be modified or shortened to reconnect properly. A SharkBite-style push-to-connect fitting or flexible connector can also help make the installation and reconnection easier, depending on your existing plumbing. A plumber should be able to make the necessary adjustment easily. Thanks!

I have a URG205T6N with a circulation pump connected. Can this fit where the original anode rode is or do I have to use the adaptor at the hot water outlet?

        Answer This Question

Hi! Our powered anode rod (model #96383) is designed to be installed in the hot water outlet, just like the factory anode rod on your Bradford White water heater. The only adapter required is the molded wye fitting included in the box. Thanks!

            Answer This Question

Hi! We would need the exact water heater model to confirm compatibility. The Corro-Protec for Bradford White water heaters (installed at the water outlet) is designed for a 3/4" NPT outlet. If your water heater has a dedicated anode port, you would instead need our regular 40–89 gallon model (Model #96387), which is designed for installation in a 3/4" NPT dedicated port. Thanks!

Will this work in my gas water heater HTP Phoenix model PH130-80? The anode port is on the side of the tank.

Hi! The fitting is approximately 4½" tall, and the head of the anode adds an additional 2". Thanks!

                Easy install and looks nice.
I purchased this and installed it same day of delivery about two weeks ago. The install was very easy and instructions were very clear. The only issue was the threads on the fitting where the anode attaches required about six layers of Teflon tape to stop threads from leaking. All's well otherwise.

Easy to install and working great
I'm not sure why some reviews are complaining about the installation. In my case it took about 30 minutes and it was a perfect fit for my Bradford White gas water heater. My guess is that most installation issues come down to poorly applied Teflon tape rather than the product itself. So far everything works as expected, and I'm hoping it protects my tank against corrosion for many years

                    yes, it installs
new bradford white tank, new corro-protect, wrap 3x minimum, use pipe dope, and leave some threads on the bottom uncovered so they can catch. this is what the plumbers who installed my water heater did yesterday. the product works, wont void tank warranty, and installs. as far as customer service. i have no experience there.

                      Easy installation
I wanted something that could be hassle free so I didn't have to change the anode rod each year. Fortunately I discovered this product. The old hot water outlet needs to be removed with a pipe wrench. Just be careful to hand thread everything first before torqueing down the pieces. You may have to unclip the heat vent shroud to get a little more clearance on the Y adapter.

                        Leaked!!
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get this anode rod to work for me. I eventually had to buy and install a standard anode rod, and threw this one away. Their anode rod for the Bradford water heaters just have too many potential failure (or leak) points - 4 rather than 2 on their regular rods. All it takes is for a leak to occur in one of those points and the whole thing is useless, as was my case. No matter how much Teflon tape I put on it, I couldn't get it to stop leaking. The time between when I bought the rod (in February 2025) and tried to install it (September 2025) was too long to return, and the response I got from customer service was to put on more tape. Jeff

With water heaters like all appliances, automobiles etc designed for early failure, I remember having an active anode rod could really extend the life. They make one specifically for Bradford White which is nice. I'm betting their profit margin on these is tremendous but, not a lot of other market choices out there. Happy overall.

Very simple to install. I took longer to remove the existing anode rod than it did to install this product. Getting the kit with the plumbing parts is a must. It has completely eliminated the rotten egg smell. I'd highly recommend this product.

Company is horrible to work with
It worked for a year then quit. The company says 20 year warranty, however they won't help when their product breaks. Don't expect any replacement items or even help from Home Depot. Be Warned.
