How to set the clock
Press and hold the on/off button for 3 seconds until the time starts flashing. Use the up and down arrows to set the desired hour, then press the on/off button once more to switch to the minutes. Adjust the minutes using the same arrows, then press the power button one final time, and you're all set!
How quiet?
The PS18 ranges from a quiet 1.5 sones on the lowest speed to 7 sones on the highest speed, giving you the perfect balance of sound and performance.
what is the maximum static pressure of the 36" one? I know about the CFM, I just wanted to know the pressure.
Our PS18 is 500 CFM certified by Intertek or 860 CFM when comparing to other brands, making it a top performer in its class. As for the the static pressure, we don't have any further testing on this.
There are 3 wall studs centered behind the area where the hood will be mounted. Can the exhaust be routed so it bypasses them before venting outside?
If the PS18 is ducted horizontally out the back, is there any heat produced by the operation of the range hood that would present a problem when the vent goes through 1" of polystyrene external insulation? Is there a brand of vent that you recommended?

When the vent is run vertically through the roof for the PS18 installation, is there a recommended type or brand of duct work and roof cap?
For general duct setup, we recommend that there is no more than 14' of total ducting and that there is at least 12' of straight ducting from the top of the unit itself before there are any immediate bends, turns, or elbows. When it comes to the roof cap and ductwork, this is universal and can be purchased here at the Home Depot. Most people use Master Flow for the roof cap.
Is the matte black color still made of stainless steel?
Yes, all of our models are made from high-quality 18-gauge (430 grade) stainless steel no matter the color. If you happen to have further questions, let us know — we're here to help!
Is the three prong plug already wired and ready to plug in?
The PS18 is designed for quick installation with a three-prong power cable for easy plug-in. If you prefer a hardwired setup, you can do that too. We just recommend having a certified electrician handle the process to ensure a safe and smooth installation! Enjoy your new PS18! :)
