When I ordered these cabinets in store with the assistance of the cabinet person I specifically asked if these cabinets were particle board. She kind of chuckled and said no. These cabinets are particle board, not mdf, but particle board. The thermofoil fronts aren’t bad but the rest of the cabinet is not what I expected. I could have ordered RTA cabinets online that are 100% plywood. They are not junk but they aren’t plywood. The fillers pieces chip because particle board isn’t solid so the edges don’t stick well. Good thing it’s my casita or I’d box them back up and return.

Great, after a few issues

The packaging is terrible, so it's a miracle if these cabinets come undamaged. Also, there were some issues with how they were assembled... That being said, once you get the issues all figured out they are beautiful and the thr finish is very easy to clean. Fantastic hinges and drawer glides too.

Good, but I added durability

One star removed for damage. The cabinet arrived with a broken foot piece and a crunch through the base shelf in one area. I made a cover for the base using nice plywood since I didn’t want to wait for a replacement, and I fixed the broken foot using wood glue, clamps, and screwing two shims in for support. I also added five blocks of 4x4 on the underside to provide extra support as I have a very heavy copper sink going in that will require bracing from beneath. Since my additions were made from leftovers I already had, this cost me nothing but an hour and a half of labor. You could jump up and down on this thing all day now and it will not crack or budge. I also had damage to the dowels on one side of each cabinet door support piece, but since there is a top bar that gets screwed into these, I did not find an issue with that. I understand some would be very irritated by these things, but this is really nothing but a base and doors/door frame, and is very low priced, so I expected to make some adjustments for durability. I put end panels on either side of the cabinet and used brackets to connect the top doorframe bar to those panels to provide extra strength. I also added brackets from the end panels to my walls for more support. The base has holes in it to screw the base to the end panels (or side cabinets if that is what you’re using), but I found the side panels just a bit too wobbly for comfort, hence the added brackets. This thing is more solid than any other cabinet in my kitchen now. I didn’t mind the added labor and the damage wasn’t detrimental to me so I’m still pleased. There aren’t a ton of corner sink cabinet options out there and I’m happy I could find one in the melvern forest line. The doors do come unattached, so be ready to install the door hinges yourself. The directions were not the clearest but using common sense got me through that easily. If you have zero experience with something of this nature, I would recommend bringing in help to avoid frustration. The picture shows the damage to the base and my plywood insert (hole cut for plumbing). You will see a 1.5” end panel on the left and a 3” end panel on the right. It may look like there is damage on the panels but that is just drywall dust.

Disappointed to say the least

I agree with a few other reviews here when it comes to poor packaging and craftsmanship of these cabinets. BEWARE THESE TAKE A LONG TIME TO SHIP! It took about a month from order placed to our front door. When we received these, a few were packed fine, but some the cardboard was ripped off, exposing the cabinets and the cardboard was soaking wet (for who knows how long) and ended up warping the cabinet. Disappointed in many ways, for the time and money spent on these for a home reno, they came not looking great. In addition to this, Home Depot even shipped the wrong cabinet, so I had to sacrafice keeping a cabinet i didn't order or want because Home Depot messed up and sent the wrong one in my order. When I called, they said I would have to wait six weeks for a new one to come. On top of that now, i did not get full refund for that cabinet - one i didn't even want AND it was damaged! Poor customer service on HD's part too after an hour on the phone. Left a bad taste in my mouth.

Poor packaging

This review is for 4, full-door, green, 36", fully assembled base cabinets with pressboard sides. When we unpacked the boxes, it was clear that the way they were packaged left them open to damage. There were triangle cellulose padding at the corners, but there was very little additional stabilizing or bracing. All of the cabinets had damage to the interior. There are chunks of the interior side walls that were compromised when the staples for the back panel were bumped or twisted, causing separation of the pressed board. Thankfully, there was no exterior damage, like scratches or dents, but my husband had to fix one of the doors. He is a contractor and mentioned that "you get what you pay for", noting that he did not expect them to be perfect. I understand that. I know we didn't pay for plywood construction, but we did pay hard-earned money, and just because we opted for the lesser quality cabinets doesn't mean that we should expect, and be accepting, of damage. If you purchase these, you might also have to purchase the clear door bumpers because most of them fell off in shipping and were no longer sticky. You'll also need to get some shelf clips, because many of them were broken upon arrival. You might also have to do some minor rebuilding, like we had to do for one that had come apart in the box. For me, the bottom line is this. When one buys a new product, it should come to them in a new condition. It should not arrive damaged, or "like-new".

First, they were shipped to California instead of Florida, which meant we had to wait six weeks to get them and then when we receive them, the paint around the glass was inconsistent and showed white. Also, one of the glass doors had a scratch on the glass; however, we waited so long to get the job finished that it wasn’t worth sending it back.
