Questions & Answers

Does this have a stop so you don't drill past the ridge where the inserted pipe bottoms out?
ByJul 9, 2026
1 Answer |
Answer This Question

Hello - There is no stop - it is a reamer - not a drill bit so as you ream - you will be able to see the progress and stop reaming once the glued pipe has been reamed it hits the flange of the fitting.

Because the OD of schedule 35-80 does not change only ID the tool should still work.

The images and description say 3", and it's shown being used on DWV pipe; but the specifications state that it's for ½" pipe. Which is it?

Hello - this a reamer for 3" pipe and the reference to the 1/2" is for the power drill chuck. Hope this helps.

This PVC Pipe Fitting Reamer was a lifesaver. I ordered one on the "A" site but it got hung up in delivery. I found that the local Home Depot had one so my project stayed on track. The fitting was in the middle of a drain line run so changing it out would have been a major effort. Using this tool made it easy and there were no leaks. Best idea possible for replacing damaged pipe in the middle of a run where you can't easily replace the pipe and fitting.

This tool saves money and time when you’re 3 inch pipe leaks ! You cut the pipe off drill out the old piece re-glue on the new piece. Put your rubber connector on tighten down and boom you’re done.

It works but its not good for pressurized fittings.
Don't bother if you're using this on pressurized fittings. It will make them loose and you can't effectively cement them back together after. Tried on three different couplings that I wanted to save for my pool. Each one was too loose after using this so I ended up buying more couplings anyway. I can't see practice changing that.
