For example, if the unit requires 10 kW to achieve the desired temperature, it will divide that 10 kW among all the elements. Are these tankless heaters only meant to backup heaters to the bigger water heaters?

Alternatively, it can function as a standalone water heater for your entire home. Can this be used in a barn? 3 washer bay for horses and a close washer. The washer will most likely not be running when washing horses.

Can I use this electric water heater in Mexico?

Hi Mike, great question. If you're looking to run all of these appliances simultaneously, I would recommend the Opti 27kw, as it will provide 3.5 to 4.0 GPM in your area. If you are more likely to run one or two appliances simultaneously (sink & shower), then the Opti 18 will be sufficient. When sizing an electric tankless water heater, it is essential to understand the simultaneous usage in order to size a product correctly. The 27 KW you require 3 -40 amp breakers and it’s single phase. How are you splitting up the phases. Do you need to run a 3 wire cable . Please send a wiring diagram. I see the 2 terminal blocks.
The Opti 27Kw is a single-phase unit that requires 3 DP 40 amp breakers with three sets of 8/2 Romex to 8 AWG wire. You will need to run three separate circuits for each 40-amp breaker.
Will the tank work with well water?
All Optimal heaters are equipped with durable copper-sheathed heating elements. If you are using a well system and don’t have an inline filter, we recommend performing yearly maintenance to extend the lifespan of the heating element.
