Would it affect performance too much to connect this unit to a 7" duct using a 3.25x10 to 7" round transition?
This range hood comes with a standard 6-inch round duct connection. Using a 3.25" × 10" to 7" round transition to connect to a 7-inch duct may affect airflow performance, as the hood is designed for a 6-inch duct system. The larger duct itself does not necessarily reduce performance, but the transition design and overall duct layout can affect airflow and ventilation efficiency. I have an existing hood with a 4" round duct that comes out of the back. Will this Vikio model work as a direct replacement?
Thank you very much for reaching out! This model comes with a 10" x 3.25" rectangular exhaust outlet. If you would like to connect it to a round duct, you would need to purchase a rectangular-to-round adapter separately. However, we do not recommend using a 4" round duct, as it is smaller than the standard requirement and may significantly reduce the airflow performance and suction efficiency of the range hood. Is the duct vertical and round ? Or is it rectangular?

What is the maximum decibels?
Hi, Nina. The maximum noise level of the unit measured at a distance of one meter is less than 65 decibels. However, due to environmental noise, there may be slight fluctuations. Please don’t worry, this is completely normal.
How do I remove the cover plates? Nothing I do works, and instructions say to “unfasten screws” — what screws?
Ignore the instructions, there are no screws to unfasten. You'll need a hammer to "knock out" either cover plate.
