I've purchased a single 24ft, 12 light set incl the power plug/24v DC transformer and controller module. To extend an additional 24ft, do I have to buy a second full set and an unnecessary power plug/24v transformer and controller module?

Does it have to have WiFi to come on period
Thank you for your question Jamie. These are WiFi lights by nature, so whilst you can turn them on without WiFi, you won't get the full level of control (EG being able to change color and brightness, etc). For more information, please reach out over at support.lifx.com. Thank you.
Does this kit require the purchase of the 12/24ft kit, does this kit also include a controller? (I want to end up with 24/48ft installation)
Hi Alan, no it does not. This is a 2 pack of extension lengths only. You will need a standalone String kit for the controller and PSU in order to work in conjunction with these extensions. Thank you.
Check the packaging. These answers show up for both the extension kits and the kits with the controllers. I just bought two sets and they have the controllers included.
Can you connect 2 sets together to get 48'?

What material is the clear part of the bulbs: glass (silicate, soda-lime, borosilicate, aluminosilicate, tempered, laminated, etc), plastic (polycarbonate, acrylic, PET, polypropylene, polyethylene, etc), or what?

How much do the individual bulbs weigh? Can the string be held up using outdoor adhesive Command hooks, or would screwed-in metal hooks be required?
Hi there Ellen, thank you for your question. The total weight of the string bulb section (cord included) is approximately 3.06 pounds. If you support the string at each bulb, each hook would need to hold around 0.3 pounds. Outdoor adhesive Command hooks can be used, as long as they are rated to hold more than this weight. For best results, consider placing a Command hook between each bulb and ensure the surface is thoroughly cleaned before application. Be sure to follow the installation instructions provided by the Command Hook manual to ensure a secure hold. That said, screw-in hooks are always the most robust option and will provide longer-lasting support, especially in outdoor conditions. Do you offer RGB without needing WiFi? My WiFi can be spotty at times so to avoid frustration I’m looking for great lights without all the tech involved. If you don’t please consider. Ty

Whilst all of our lights are WiFi lights, we've released our first product today with button controls which we may look to adapt to our product range in future. For now, this product can be used without WiFi, but it will turn on with your last known settings. If you are able to get this product onboarded to your WiFi and set up to the color/brightness you desire, you can use the switch to turn this off and on, however, you won't be able to change the settings again without jumping back on WiFi. The lights on this string set are only 1 every 24", correct?
