can i drill through wood with this and masonary bit for deckposts
You can drill through wood using the DEWALT ATOMIC 20V MAX 5/8 in. SDS Plus Hammer Drill (DCH172B), however using a wood bit is recommended for deck posts.

What size drill bits will it take
The DCH172B uses SDS Plus bits and has a 5/8 in. SDS Plus chuck . The manual gives an optimum masonry drilling range of 5/32 in. to 3/8 in.
Why does this kit have the DCF845 listed as the impact driver? Isnt this model number for this particular kit (DCK2112QQ2) supposed to have the DCF860 impact driver instead? Other retailers lists the DCF860 on this kit same but Home Depot doesn’t?
The DCK2101QQ2 includes the DCF845.
I'm trying to install post brackets on existing concrete patio but I keep hitting rebar. My standard household impact will not do the job. Will this hammer be strong enough to drill through rebar (with the appropriate rebar cutting bit of course)?
We do not recommend using the DCH172B for rebar drilling.

Can it drill into granite
Yes, the DCH172B can drill into granite.
Can it up root tiles?
The DCH172B can remove light tiles, but it is not ideal because it only features rotation with hammer and rotation modes, lacking a hammer only mode.
