ECOMIX 1 gal. #12 Swiss Coffee Flat Plant-Based Interior Paint & Primer

We have a bunk room in our short-term rental vacation home, and the back wall has been a dark tan since we bought the place. By lightning it up with a whiter color, such as Behr flat Polar Bear, we could make the room brighter and highlight some hung pictures of the lake. Of course, I like that this is plant-based and has the great Behr name, but the real test is whether it can offer coverage for a previously dark wall. I put on two coats, with about an hour and a half between the two. After two hours, the paint showed promise, but I will have to do a 3rd coat. Luckily, it rolls on easily and wasn’t hard to cut in at all (edge trim with a brush). My gallon stayed well-mixed, and did not have any kind of strong smell like I usually get with most other latex paints. I believe this was a good choice, and we are proud to be revitalizing this room ourselves!

This paint covers over other paint pretty well in one coat. It is a flat eggshell color so it's not smooth or having any Sheen to it. There's not much to say about paint other than the fact that it's true to its color and that it covers in one coat. I would use this style Paint only for a rental property or new construction Or for a ceiling or if you are using dark colors and do not want any shine or glare.

Product arrived in secure packaging, no damages noted. This paint does have the no drip pouring spout attached, which is a plus, no dripping on side of can. The paint did give even, one coat coverage. No additional primer was used and I did have small repair. The paint was easy to apply and spread. As advertised there was no paint odor noted. During a application the color didn't appear true, but did dry to the beautiful french gray that I ordered. I would definitely recommend use.

Behr Premium ECOMIX 1 gal. #70 Linen White Flat Plant-Based Interior Paint & Primer Anyone who has ever painted a room knows that the higher the quality of the paint, the better the results will be. This is a flat-finish paint that will help hide wall imperfections. It is a great choice for living and dining rooms, family rooms, dens, offices, and bedrooms. It is not the wisest choice for kitchens and bathrooms. This ECOMIX Behr paint and primer saves a step, by combining the primer with the paint into one effective coat. Each gallon will cover up to 400 sq.ft. It comes in a variety of pleasing colors. It is also a low-odor paint that reduces that strong, chemical heavy smell. It cleans up with just soap and water. Although this ECOMIX Behr Premium paint contains a primer, for best results, you may want to cover stains/oil-based or glossy surfaces or seal highly porous surfaces. The paint, due to its 100% acrylic base, provides mildew resistant finish.

This COMIX 1 gal. #12 Swiss Coffee Eggshell Enamel Plant-Based paint seems to be a good product. I opened the can and stirred but was unable to find the color so I think this might be an oversite. The paint is creamy and should cover about anything with one coat (see photo). It is so thick, I'm not sure how much coverage it will do. There may be a paint odor but I did not notice it.

I am reviewing the #73 Off White Eggshell Enamel EcoMix Plant-Based Interior Paint & Primer from Behr. This is from their EcoMix brand, which means that at least 20% of the ingredients are plant-based. This is verified through testing by a 3rd party. The paint is "zero-VOC" which means the paint contains five grams or less of Volatile Organic Compounds per liter, significantly reducing harmful fumes, odors, and off-gassing compared to standard formulas. I can attest that this paint does not "stink" or smell like chemicals like so many other paints do. The paint is also GREENGUARD Gold Certified which is an official safety standard from UL Solutions that proves a product releases very low amounts of harmful chemicals into the air. The UL GREENGUARD Certification is the industry’s first to address indoor air quality concerns comprehensively, based on rigorous testing standards. Additionally, the paint has a 100% acrylic base which provides a mildew resistant finish. I received this paint along with a pour spout. This is the first time I have encountered a design using a pour spout. Note, Home Depot will give you a spout for free at the Paint Desk. The pour spout makes opening and closing the paint can super easy. While you still can open the can the old fashioned way by using an edge key or screwdriver to pry along the edge of the can, the pour spout allows you to simply unscrew the hole at the top of the can, flip over the spout and screw it into the hole, and pour. It is super convenient. The paint has a nice thickness that did not run/drip excessively. It also provides a nice cover since it includes both primer and paint in one. This saves you a ton of time from having to first prime and then paint you wall. When I was done, it was super easy to wash the paint out of the brush. If you spill, use soap and water to wipe it up. No paint remover required. All in all, I really like this paint.

I always purchase the Home Depot premium brand but this one claims to be Asthma friendly and plant base, my daughter has asthma so I wanted to give it a try, the paint smell is very minimal, I used the other premium paint last week and although it claims “NO VOCS” the smell was pretty strong. Today using the Berh Ecomix I smell very little odor coming from the freshly rolled paint. And I have a very sensitive sense of smell. The coverage was excellent since I had a very dark mocha color in my laundry room. You can see in my pictures that one coat covered very well, I might have to give a second coat in the most visible areas but I’m happy with the first coat coverage. I chose “Swiss Coffee” and I really like the very light tone of this paint, makes the room look bigger and modern.

This Behr Ecomix flat interior paint is a very easy to use paint. I have the Swiss Coffee tint and it went on very smoothly and mine covered my old cream color in one coat. It does have a pretty strong odor when putting the paint on, but that dissipates once it drys. It was easy to clean up with soap and warm water. I like that is made partially from plant-based products.

Good paint that applies easily with no mess. This paint has a different smell that your traditional latex's; however, it is not bad. We used this on a piece of furniture for our bedroom. We applied the paint with brush. Once we painted the dresser we scuffed the paint to give the piece a worn look. This paint worked great for this as you can see. I like the new tops on Behr paints. The easy flow top allows you to remove paint from the can with no mess. Great idea.

For a lot of folks, paint is paint, and you either love or hate painting projects around the house. Had a small bathroom project, and was intrigued by claim on the can of Eco Mix that stated it was “Zero VOC”. Could that be accurate? Seems like it is. I couldn’t tell that there was any odor coming form the open can of Eco Mix paint, certainly none of the typical paint fumes, nothing! Reading the can further, it states it is allergy and asthma friendly, which seems realistic, as there was no offending odors produced. Paint itself flows nicely and levels itself as with any quality interior paint. Coverage was good, although with being the same color as the existing coating, it was hard for me to tell what its ability would be to cover a dark base color.
