Great idea, poorly executed
Two major problems. 1) this doesn't come with a blade, and the one that HD sells (FB12) isn't anchored at the far end so the blade flexes as you tear, leaving a cut that's not straight. You need the FB12-SC "straight cut" blade, not available at HD. 2) With a full roll of film, the tape wants to track off of the edge of the roll. As the roll gets used and diameter gets smaller this corrects itself. With lots of practice and the right blade this overpriced contraption works OK.

its crap
So hopefully you read the reviews for this Product before you buy. Also if you do decide to read a review unlike myself and do decide to buy this crap product then dont forget to also buy the crap blade that is sold seperately just to make more money. Anyways the blade is crap and so is the Hand masker. Like the other review says you have to pull the tape and plastic evenly, i had a hard time myself since i was doing my ceiling wall and riping it off at the sane time was not a clean cut at all. Buy at your own risk. I will be returning this crap tool!

User error?
Not sure if its user error or just the product itself. Very hard to use. Tape kept slipping off the plastic and wouldn’t be connected to the plastic. Very hard to do long runs. The cutting tool at the end didnt work either. Ended up cutting each time with sissors. Not totally sure if it was user error but i would not buy it again

Stupid expensive
This is a rip off, they don’t even sell the blade with the tool. It’s a bunch of cheap small plastic. That should only cost $15.

Project was painting 4 rooms and hall at a church. This gun made junk work of masking off everything. Used it with plastic that covered 4 ft and also some paper that was 18 in. Quick and easy to apply .
