Questions & Answers

How long should this filter last. Do I need to clean the filter any.

Asked by: Ted
I do not clean the filter. It lasts me 2 months normally. I live in an area of extremely hard water and after 1 month, or when the machine starts flashing CF, I just turn it over and it lasts another month.

Will this fit in my Kenmore 758.144105?

Asked by: Tom
I don't know if it will fit that particular model since my Kenmore is a different model number. The Kenmore part number for the replacement filter for the model that I have is 32-14906. If your model takes the same Kenmore filter number then it should work in your model.

what is the different between maf1 and maf2 filters

what is the different between maf1 and maf2 filters
Asked by: Wes
MAF1 is longer and a little taller than the MAF2. I have used the MAF2 when I couldn't find a MAF-1. It works, but doesn't last nearly as long.

Customer Reviews

Humidifier Replacement Wick is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 181.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Filter does not last long enough. I thought I would be able to use one filter a winter. After a month or so I accidentally let the humidifier run dry. Upon refilling and restarting the wick would not absorb water so the humidity did not rise sufficiently. When I looked at the filter it was dry and discolored.. So I thought I would wash the filter and I put it in the washing machine on gentle. This was as successful as washing a Kleenex. So I bought a new filter and vowed to learn from my mistake. About a month later I let the humidifier run out of water again. This time I hand washed the filter in vinegar and bleach. Upon putting it back I found it was floppy and distended and would not fit back in the slots and would not stay upright. This seems to affect the functioning of the humidifier because it’s again having trouble raising the humidity. I plan to stagger through the rest of the winter, buy a new filter for next winter, and see if I can find a plastic mesh to put it in to help it stay upright. Also next time I’ll try just pouring water on the filter without washing it. I wish they made a reusable filter.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works well if handle delicately This filter works well, but must be handled with care. My first filter fell apart after a rinsing in less than a month of daily use for 3 hours/day. Make sure you run the fan until it stops automatically after the water resevoir is completely dry. This will dry out the filter and it will be stiff and easy to remove and insert again for the next use. Recommended cleaning is twice a week but I seem to get by with a once-a-week cleaning. I highly advise not rinsing a stained or discolored filter, since this will lead to an early disintegration of it and a short life. At 18 dollars a pop, this is not inexpensive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great humidifier and easy to replace filter. I have had the MoistAIR Humidifier for about 3 months now and I am very pleased with it. I have bought the smaller ones that only last one winter season before they start to break down. I have ran this one constantly and I am very satisfied with it. We have wood heat so I run in on low speed all the time. It does a great job. The humidity level reader does not register correctly for whatever reason but that really doesn't matter to me. As long as it runs and keeps some humidity in the air without the white dust the others give out then I'm happy. For the people tired of putting money out only to have it work for only one season I recommend the Model MA12010 type of humidifier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't use the off-brands, the cheaper cost is not worth it. I have used the off-brand filters, which I purchased at another store, and the Essick brand filters are by far the better product. When using the off-brand filters, my humidifier ran constantly with the humidity level never reaching my goal of 40%. With the Essick brand filters, the humidity level is raised much quicker and the humidifier shut off for long periods of time because the humidity was at my target level. Overall, even though the Essick brand filters cost a little more the reduced operating cost of running the humidifier should greatly outpace the cost difference.
