Product Details

AMDRO Rat Trap is an innovative product that has significant benefits over other devices. Attracted by lure, the rodent enters the trap thus releasing a powerful rubber latex ring onto the neck/chest area. The rodent is expelled from the trap being crushed by the ring and dies quickly next to it. The AMDRO reusable trap is safer to use, giving a lifetime of rodent free living. (Also available: AMDRO Mouse Trap).

Safer Rat Trap
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Upon opening the Amdro Rat Trap I quickly realized how much easier and safer it is to set. Unlike tradition traps there is no risk of snapping your fingers and getting hurt with this one. The product comes with directions that are easy to read and it sets up easily too. It is fully enclosed which also makes it safer around pets and children. I live in a rural area so I have some rodent problem during the colder months so this product was great for me. The only issue I had with this trap is that sometimes smaller mice can steal the bait and not set the trap off. I would buy this product again and I would also recommend it to others. Especially those with children or pets.

    Has worked great for me.
About a month ago I had a rat getting into my camper (kept at private land in the Rockies - first rat problem in 15 years owning the land.) The next day I went to a big box retailer and bought all 3 rat traps in stock. For various reasons I used the AMDRO first, not really expecting it to work, at least the first night, since my research said rats are leery of traps and may take several nights before entering them. I used peanut butter and put the trap next to the tires. Next morning I had a dead rat! Unfortunately, there were indications afterwards that the spouse/BFF of the first rat was coming around. A few nights ago I saw it so it was time to set the AMDRO again. Same process - peanut butter with trap outside next to the tires. Next morning, dead rat. So I'm 2 for 2 using the AMDRO rat trap. I will say that in killing dozens of mice over the years that some mice won't take the peanut butter, so if you aren't having success getting the rat with peanut butter try something else. Also, perhaps being in the woods made my rats less finicky on the bait. Also, the instructions regarding the assembly could be improved. They make perfect sense once you know how it's supposed to be assembled, but right out of the box they are not quite clear. enough. I am attaching a photo of the second dead rat from a couple of days ago (taken early in the morning before sunrise).

      Works Great!
I bought all 3 rat traps HD had in stock when I had a rat in my camper. For various reasons, the AMDRO was the first one I used. I really didn't think it would work but low and behold I caught the rat on the first night. A few nights ago I noticed their spouse//BFF visiting the camper. Put the AMDRO rat trap out and again dead rat in the morning. Both times I put the trap outside next to the tires. As far as I'm concerned, no need for another rat trap. I have attached a photo (taken before sun up the next day) of the success from a couple of nights ago.

This is a vey unique trap which kills with a tight rubber band that snaps over a rodent's neck or body and then expels the rodent from the trap after it's triggered. I have it set up and baited with peanut butter but I'm still anxiously waiting for the first kill. It comes with 12 rubber bands. I don't know if you can buy replacement bands or if you will just have to pitch it after 12 kills and buy a new one. But for the price, 12 kills is a great value. I found the instructions a little difficult to understand so I had to look up a video online to be sure I set it up properly. Once I figured it out it was easy to set up.

This is one very different trap---It only holds small rats and is better for mice--It is made of a sturdy plastic and comes in 2 pieces with rubber rings--The trap is about 17 inches long and is easily split in half to load with peanut butter---The rubber rings that kill the mouse are easily loaded on to the tube which is tapered for loading ease--As the mouse enters the trap, the rubber ring wraps around his throat and its over--If you have children or pets, this is a great trap for in the house--It does not have any dangerous bails to snap there fingers or paws---I highly recommend this trap for indoors.

Received the item in great shape. Very easy to set up, as instructions are very accurate. The principle behind the killer action is unique. First of its king I've ever seen. I anxiously put it together, baited with peanut butter and activated trigger. Its a funny looking gadget when all set, but looks like a real killer (rat that is). I have placed the unit behind my gas grill, as I have something (?) getting under the cover and getting into the grill box. I have great expectations of catching the villain, and being prepared for any future unwanted visitors.

This product seemed like a great concept. My husband has been battling rats in our attic for some while. The sticky traps don't work well because they just get stuck in it and then we hear them flopping around in the ceiling until they get worn out and eventually die. The old fashioned rat traps are just so violent and messy when they are triggered and catch a rat. This trap seemed like a nice alternative. A little tricky to set it up and we haven't had any success with it yet. Nice instructions, Still waiting to catch something.

"Thanks" to a neighbor who does not even try to stop the reproduction cycle of rodents, I have seen rats on my side deck searching for food. Having tried for years different methods of removal, I was veey interested in seeing if this offered me a better solution. First, this thing is more complicated to set than the instructions suggest. It uses constricting bands (like those used to castrate young bulls) to choke the rats when they attempt to push past the trigger to get the bait. I would have loved to be able to say that I was able to catch a rat on the first night after I set this out, but I cannot. Even after 3 days, nothing has set off the trap, even though I have seen chipmunks and squirrels crossing my deck. I am not saying it is ineffective. I just have not had any success yet. Maybe it is a better "mousetrap" as it is reloadable, practically hands free and comes with 12 bands to effectively kill up to 12 rats. You don't have to worry about snapping your fingers in a rat trap. There's that, too.

        Think Twice about this one.
Getting bait without setting off trigger. These are rats! they are able to push the band release without setting off band. trigger pad too soft, bends out of the way.
