Strong and safe, but almost tough to set up without...
Strong and safe, but almost tough to set up without damaging shingles because ladder section links flex so much. Two sections not bad, but with 3 must hold the end way in the air to not drag. Good luck with 4. Replaced links with nom. ½” (0.84”) x 6” pipe, now good and stiff. Mfg. should have thought of this.

More confidence working on projects!
I bought this ladder section with the chicken ladder hook (part 11610) and they are easy to put together and use on my roof, I feel more confident in my footing and have found I've become more productive working with my husband because I feel safer. Recommended from a friend to me, so I thought I'd pass on the favor and recommend to you!

I really liked the strong feel and build quality of this ladder however I had an issue with it's usability. I am building a small outhouse with a shallow pitched roof (I think about 3/8 from memory). I was using this ladder with the associated hook and found when it was hooked over the ridge when my weight was on the ladder the hook would ride up the far side and actually pop over the ridge - currently I don't have a ridge cap on so there is just sheeting on both sides. I think if the roof was steeper the hook would have been fine but it was too risky to use in my application.
Otherwise the actual ladder is great and easy to maneuver.

Impractical
Explain to me how you're supposed to be able to roll this later up a roof when THE THING ARCHES LIKE A RAINBOW. The wheel does absolutely nothing because the rungs of the ladder rest on and scrape against shingles, peeling them up and scraping them bald because the ladder arches and sags. They need to redesign how the sections link up so there isn't so much play. This thing is also too heavy for its purpose. VERY VERY VERY displeased with how dumb this design is. ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH PURCHASING. Making sure all my construction buddies know not to buy it.

I was please with my purchase of the 6' sectional...
I was please with my purchase of the 6' sectional Chicken Ladder. I used it the day after receiving it. The only thing that I would have done extra, would be to put rubber feet on the ends, like the one's you see on walking canes. Anyone can go into Lowe's and find a pair. It helps stabilize the bottom ends as you climb, especially on a metal roof, like the one I was using it on.
