Handy Item
This item is very handy if you need to work on your gutters without damaging them. It keeps the ladder safely away from the house. It is made of steel and is very sturdy, and a bit heavy. It weighs about 11 pounds and can be quite a handful at the end of your ladder. Attaching it to the ladder is easy, positioning the ladder is not so easy. I had to lean it towards the house and walk the bottom out in order to get it positioned properly. Nice item, I wonder if they could make a lighter version out of aluminum?

Pro item. Adds weight to top of ladder , but manageable with good technique. Puts load “deeper” on roof, away from roof edge. Very stable.

Not as it should be
It works. But the chain system does not hold the unit fast to the ladder. So it is necessary to add a bungee. Otherwise it is near impossible to properly place the unit against a wall.
While it is very solid, it is also very heavy. Which is no small matter at the end of a ladder. Fine for a young strong person. Likely not so much for a regular middle aged or older person.
In short the system needs an update. It should be made of lighter materials. While I understand the 'slop' is necessary for roof placement, the chain is inadequate for duel operation. At least I believe for average home owners.
I can not recommend this product. The tested design of the product is perfect. It is everything else which requires an update.
