Questions & Answers

Would this work on a homemade septic tank?

Asked by Sherrod May 9, 2020

Yes, but the septic system must comply with state and local codes and be installed by a properly credentialed installer.

What about installation in cold NE weather? Will the pump run at 25 below F? Does the air hose need to be insulated?

Asked by Dave October 8, 2019

The system is approved by Underwriter Laboratories for permanent outdoor use. We have many installations across the Northern U.S. & Canada. The cold weather will not negatively impact the system. The airline does not need to be insulated. If you have any questions regarding your septic situation feel free to give us a call anytime at (877)-254-7093.

One unit in the first tank near the building/house I would think. You would want to treat the septic liquid before it travels outward. If that doesn't work then I would install the second one in the effiuent tank

I have a septic tank with a lift station well; should I have them pumped out before installation?

Thanks for the message. Unfortunately our system would likely not be a remedy for this situation. Issues this premature generally point towards a faulty installation or design. We'd recommend contacting the installer & reaching out to the county to determine the next available steps. You should also follow up with the regulating authority to ensure the proper permits were pulled & preliminary testing was done for the system. If you have any other questions or would like to discuss your septic situation; we can always be reached at (877)-254-7093 Aero-Stream, LLC (877)-254-7093

we have two 500 gallon tanks that share a drain field. would I need two of these or just one?

Asked by Tods March 28, 2018

Install in one close to the house

oyour article says nothing about installing this item

Asked by bob December 1, 2017

What do you need to know? The instructions are pretty plain and easy to follow with real easy installation if you are a handy man type of guy? If you are a beginner still easy to follow directions and you can do it by yourself. Only problem you would run into is the electrical is set up to just plug into a 110 v outlet with three prong cord.....but don't run a extension cord halfway across your yard to do it...if that is the you would need to hire an electrician if you cannot do electrical as a home owner

The instruction about 6" hole is important. I tried in a 5 1/2" hole, but it wouldn't go.Cut off 2 of the floaters, now it fits! I will reserve judgement to see how it performs long term. If it cleans up field line issues like it claims, I will be happy!

This product is every bit as good as they say it is. We installed this and within a few hours the smell dissipated. The first 24 hours the liquids tank was noticeably more clear and 48 hours no smell and even more clear. 1 week in and we are amazed. Their customer service is amazing too!

We had water ponding over the septic tank. I had the tank drained and installed the Aero-Stream a week later. We did not cover the tank with dirt for a whole week and there was no odor. It rained real heavy and filled up 3 feet of water which disappeared in a couple of hours. After repeatedly looking for an odor and not getting it we covered the septic tank with dirt. It has since rained fairly heavy and there has been no ponding over the tank. It has a very quiet hum and so far we are exceptionally satisfied. I have recommended this to several people telling them it can solve their septic tank problems.

Install was not hard (hardest part was drilling the hole thought he cement cover). Tech support was quite helpful. Seems to be working (I can hear bubbling sounds). I won't know for months if it full fixes the septic problem. The pump noise is low. I was told by manufacturer that after about 9 months, I don't need to run the pump all the time.
