Q:I have observed, the measurement markings seem to be wrong. I measured with a yardstick from the 16 in marker to the tip of the digger clamshells, and it was about 15 in. Please advise, am I interpreting this measurement this wrong?

    Answer This Question

A:  The ruler on the handle must be positioned to accommodate the length of the Post Hole Digger head. The head is 14.5” and where the head and handle meet must be the 14.5” marking on the handle. While manufacturing these, not all heads are going to be the same length. We have a ½ inch tolerance built into our manufacturing process to accommodate this. In the process of using a Post Hole Digger, this will be sufficient to perform any task needed to use the ruler

A:  I don't see a ? but I liked the device, it was quite solid but a bit heavy. More expensive shovel with fiberglass handles that are not as heavy would be good if had to use every day. Solid is what is necessary as there is quite a bit of jamming it into the ground and rocks

A:  This is not a trencher unless you have a lot of time and energy. Made for fence post holes.

            by|May 5, 2023

A:  No, not really. It's for digging holes for fence posts. If you need to dig down, this is the tool you want.

Don't get the fiberglass post hole diggers. Go with wood. Much stronger.

It's light weight, yet sturdy and east to use. The best part is that the ruler on the handle really is a time saver and makes it simple to get the perfect depth of hole every time!

I was pleasantly surprised by this post-hole digger for the price, particularly that it is American made. I was expecting at this price that I would be getting an imported post-hole digger. It works fine, I needed to dig a series of holes in my yard for a few light projects and this went through it fine. I had previously rented post-hole diggers but my projects were getting bigger and more frequent which justified finally buying one.

It's firmly built and made hard work easy. I dug 6 (12"wide x 28"deep) wholes in 45 mins or less. There were two other options at my local store, but the was the middle option and has work well for what I needed. Built a horizontal privacy fence.

                The weekend project
Great post hole digger. I was able to replace two broken post and keep my fence from being blown down by strong winds. Also having measure guide on the post make it easy to see how deep you have dug. I didn't have pulling out a measuring tape every few minutes. Highly recommended.

Handle broke on 8th fence post hole.
A picture is worth a thousand words. A total of 8 holes dug in light, sandy soil ... well, actually 7 1/2 holes dug. Stored indoors, never used in wet or inclement weather, and meticulously maintained. Replacing handles every 7 or 8 holes was definitely not part of my budget. And, yes. I loved it until it broke. But, I could feel the wood starting to give by the 5th hole.
