We have the pacific post and the oasis mailbox mounted to it. The top bracket seems to weak and flimsy to support the oasis mailbox. it wobbles and shakes very easily. Is there a beefier top bracket available?

I used this post with mailbox pictured on the box, the Oasis Locking mailbox. After installation when open the or close the mailbox this thing bounces around like a spring horse. You know the old playground toys you set on has a spring under it.I use their products every day, and this is the only product I've Had issues with. Seems to be the where the bracket meets the post is just to springy.

Three years ago I learned that our local post office would deliver mail directly to my house if I would put up a mailbox next to the highway in front of the property. Prior to that I had been paying over $100 a year for a PO Box rental and having to drive into to town to retrieve my mail from the box. I bought a large Architectural Mailboxes Oasis 360 Locking Mailbox and mounted it on a 4x4 wooden post. That worked just fine until recently when I discovered a gopher has taken a liking to my mailbox post. So I ordered this Architectural Mailboxes Pacifica 53 inch Steel Round In-Ground Post in Rubbed Bronze to eventually replace my old wooden post.
This steel post is well-designed and includes the necessary mounting bracket for the mailbox. Four small 11 mm bolts and washers with lock nuts attach the mounting bracket to the top of the post. Additional long #8 x 1-3/4 inch screws with ruuber spacers and bigger 13 x 24 mm bolts are provided for attaching the mailbox to the mounting bracket. As soon as I get a bag of concrete post mix and a warm enough day, I'll replace my old wooden post with this nice new steel post.

This is one tank of a mail box post. Every since my neighbor backed into my old wooden post, it was never the same. This product was a great fix to straightening out my mailbox. In my opinion, the round design makes it go into the ground easier and has stability from the inside of the tube and the outside. The post is very solid feeling with a great sense of high quality material. I would strongly recommend!

Architectural Mailboxes heavyweight steel post in bronze is strong enough to hold large mailboxes up to 50 lbs. The post's diameter is 3" and length is 53". This is one solid post that will not blow over on windy days. A mounting bracket with hardware is included for attaching a mailbox. The bronze post is absolutely beautiful. It's quite a bit heavier than other posts, and is very well-built.

Well, my mail box looks great. My neighbor backed into it cause it's short. He didnt do any damage. So I got a longer pole for my mail box, it's been unpredictable wheather here so I've been having to wait to install so the concrete can harden pluse kids out of school dont want them messing with it. I think planters around it will make it such better.

The post that my mailbox sits on was starting to wiggle a lot and I thought that it was about rotted off. Since we live in the Northern California coastal mountains where it is very wet even treated wood posts don't last. I decided that replacing the wood post with a steel post would be the best long term solution. This post is very easy to install. I placed it in concrete and it is as solid as a rock. Since it is powder coated it should never rust and look nasty. The plate that the mailbox attaches to, bolts to the top of the post and fits perfectly. The attachment plate is pre-drilled for just about every type of mailbox that exists. If you want a solution for wood posts that keep rotting away this is the way to go.

This review is for the Pacifica 53 in. Steel Round In-Ground Post, in a Rubbed Bronze finish. My wife has recently taken an interest in bird watching and bird feeding. With her newfound interest, she has also discovered that squirrels love bird seed. Since the squirrels made their first appearance, she has been trying to figure out how to keep the squirrels away. Although this post is intended for a mailbox, we decided to get it to mount her bird feeder in the hopes of keeping the squirrels away. The post has a nice bronze finish and seems to be sturdy. The mounting plate is obviously intended for a mailbox and it would be a simple matter to mount a mailbox to it but it worked just as well for our bird feeder. I know there are requirements on how to mount a mailbox but we did not have to worry about that. If I were installing a mailbox, I would have done so with some concrete but because our location might be more temporary, we just placed it directly in the ground. I have not had this long enough to know how it will hold up to the elements but so far I am impressed with the quality of this post.
