pop rivet caught in gun cannot get out how do I PUT THIS GU BACK TOGETHER

pop rivet caught in gun cannot get out how do I PUT THIS GU BACK TOGETHER
Asked by: CHARLIE
Hello, Charlie. Fully remove the nose piece and look at the jaws. The two jaws should look even and symmetrical. If they don’t, then one of the jaws may have been pushed out of position. If so, use the screwdriver end of the included wrench to remove the set screw which is at the opposite end of the head from the nose piece. Do not remove the spring below the set screw. Holding your finger over the hole (to keep the spring inside), shake the tool gently until the jaws are set back to an even position. Then re-install the set screw until the top of the set screw is even with the top of the tube into which it is threaded. Re-install the nose piece and see if the tool now works properly. You can also give Richard in our repair department a call at 800-776-2228, ext. 208, and he can walk through this and some other troubleshooting steps with you. Asked by: Tony
Hello, Tony. For the RHT300, we offer blind rivets in 1/8” (3mm), 5/32” (4mm) and 3/16” (4.8mm). We do not, however, offer threaded inserts. We hope that helps! Let us know if you have any other questions.

Twister Rivet Tool is rated 1.9 out of 5 by 84.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Works great - for the first 14 rivets I bought this tool to assemble a Christmas present for my wife. Christmas morning comes, she loves the gift, I take it downstairs to assemble. Get everything laid out, start riveting. Works great. I show my two boys how rivets work, they're impressed. Then comes rivet #15. I keep squeezing the handles and nothing happens. I notice that I don't feel resistance until the handles are almost completely closed together. I remove the tool and examine the rivet, and I can see marks on the rivet where the tool had been squeezing against the metal shank. However, it keeps slipping off and won't finish the job. I try again with rivet #16, thinking I may have a faulty rivet. No dice - same problem. So what's a guy to do? It's Christmas day, the store is probably closed. I'll have to see if I can borrow a rivet gun today from a neighbor, or wait until I can return it to the store. Hopefully HD sells another made and model of rivet gun that is more reliable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth buying I bought 5 of these for my students and 2 of them are broken. The lock nut that hold inside comes off and is impossible to put back on. RH200 is a much better product. Frustrated!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The head broke on the first steel rivet! Bought this about three years ago as a lifetime tool as it appeared to be heavy duty and I've had other Arrow tool products that have worked well. I used it on a light duty gutter project and it worked well and the swivel head was handy. I haven't used it again until yesterday. I had a heavier use project and bought steel rivets. The head broke (split) on the first rivet. DO NOT USE WITH STEEL RIVETS! The head material, although appearing very heavy duty, is light duty cast material.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Steel construction? A piece of wood is stronger! I bought this riveter some time ago 'cos it looked good and I thought the rotating head was a good idea. When my father in law backed his car into my garage door I thought I had the ideal tool to replace the damaged rivets. How wrong can you be!! Having straightened out the door I began reassembly. On the first rivet the head split longitudinally in three places leaving the rivet totally unscathed. The casting quality is good but the metal used isn't. If a replacement head is available, I will replace it and keep the thing for light work - I still like the rotating head.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Breaks with aluminum rivits Had used this tool on my wifes first trailer and it worked well (for the 6 rivets it needed. On the second trailer after about 15 rivets, a snapping sound and a washer comes flying out the back. No longer grasps the rivet and without a part breakdown, I'm reluctant to take it apart. And of course it is Christmas day and I can't go out to get another (and probably a different brand). So temporarily used screws to hold the light on the wall. I appears to be a solid tool, but the inner parts don't hold up to much use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Only good for a few rivets Similar to the last reviewer. I put in 4 rivets with no problem -- even thought the rotating head was useful. Then today, I tried pulling 3/16 SS rivets. Got about halfway through 1 and then no grip. Something inside the tool yielded and it won't finish this rivet or pull another. I'll take it back and see if they have something more durable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Failed after only a handful of rivets... Bought this unit because it had the most features of all the rivet guns on the shelf but more importantly the Arrow name...sadly disappointed only the second time I needed to use it. Will not grip any size rivet, I tried 3 different sizes and none will compress. Have tried and tried to adjust, using every tip and trick I could find and still nothing. I own several Arrow staplers (cable, tack and a T50) all are excellent quality and have never had an issue until this rivet gun. Cannot recommend this model based solely on its durability.
