Will this go thru hard pressed wood to recover a cat scratcher and a pressed wood tv stand

Asked by MJW November 19, 2020

Answer

Hello, Yes, this tool should work well for both of those projects. Be sure to consult our guide The Skinny on Staples before starting your project. Here's a link: http://bit.ly/2NuDT2E. Incorrect staple size is a common reason for difficulties in fastening materials. Shorter staple lengths are recommended for harder wood, but the material you're using as a cover will impact the selection as well. Be sure you are making firm contact with the safety tip before firing to ensure full penetration of the staples. Thanks for your question and good luck with your project. - Your Arrow Fastener Team

Can I use a 1/4 crown staple with this Arrow electric staple gun?

Asked by Knour September 22, 2020

Answer

Hello, 1/4" crown staples will not work with this tool. It uses Arrow T50 staples in sizes: 1/4 in., 5/16 in., 3/8 in., or 1/2 in. The crown size for these staples is 3/8". Will the staples penetrate the aluminum siding of an RV?

Asked by Karen August 11, 2020
1
Answer

Hello, since we do not know the gauge of the metal, we recommend testing the tool on a sample piece of material, if possible. You also may want to consider a pneumatic staple gun, such as the Arrow PT50, for this application. -Your Arrow Fastener Team

Will this gun shoot 1/4” 8mm staples into plastic?

Asked by Jm June 5, 2020
1
Answer

Hello, This question is a bit difficult to answer because the hardness of plastic varies significantly. The staple would fully sink in plastic with hardness similar to wood grain (oak, plywood). A very hard plastic, however, may not accept full staple penetration. We hope this offers some help. -- Your Arrow Fastener team

Great tool for craft projects.
Customer review from arrowfastener.com logo
I purchased this to reinforce corners that I had glued together for a backless box or a frame made from 1” wide by 1/4 thick wood slats. Without the staples it fell apart. I can see this will be a very useful tool in my craft room. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Used for dining room chair seat reupholstering
Customer review from arrowfastener.com logo
The PowerShot T50ACD, Electric Staple Gun, was a great power tool to accomplish this project of reupholstering dining room chairs. I used 5/16" Arrow staples for this project. I was using thinner fabric this time, but was often stapling through multiple layers as I didn't take the old fabric off. This worked well most of the time. Sometimes the staples would bend or the legs would break off so I would just pull it out and restaple. The particle board was 3/8" thick. Previously, I was trying to use a hand stapler and I had to hammer staples in after deploying them and it was very hard on my hand. This electric stapler was a definite improvement and the process went much faster! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Used for chair reupholstering
Customer review from arrowfastener.com logo
I chose the T50ADC electric stapler as I was reupholstering all of my dining room chairs. I used 5/16 staples. I had very dense MDF boards so this stapler made it easier to complete the project. I did have to follow up with a hammer on a few staples. Very pleased with this staplers preformance. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Perfect upgrade from manual staple gun!
Customer review from arrowfastener.com logo
Decided to upgrade to electric for a reupholstry project and so glad I did. Helped me secure some tight corners and cut the project time down considerably! Only con was multiple broken staples until I got the feel for the gun. Figured that was user error. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Buyer Beware
Customer review from arrowfastener.com logo
(1) I found the staple gun difficult to align, which caused me to miss my target and waste my staples. (2) Sometimes, when I applied pressure on the gun for forced penetration into my vinyl siding, the staples would fall out of the gun. (3) The illustrations on how to load the staples was small and difficult for me to understand. The gun didn't work that well for me putting up chicken wire into vinyl siding and it didn't work at all on the vinyl fence posts. However, I decided not to return it because of possibly being able to use it on future projects with a "softer surface". [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I bought this Arrow to replace my stanley electric stapler that I have had since the early 90's.
Customer review from arrowfastener.com logo
The Powershot T50HS was a replacement for my Stanley electric stapler that I have had since the early 90's. While OSHA standards have changed and not all for the better this has been a great little stapler. I used it to staple the insulation batting when insulting my shop. I also used it to install the Polystyrene Attic Rafter Vents. I like the ease of loading the staples. I did hit the on off switch by mistake a few times while trying to hold material up over my head and had to reposition myself so I could reach and turn it back on. It has a safety pin that has to be depressed before it will let you fire a staple. It takes to much pressure to press in when doing the Polystyrene Attic Rafter Vent as it tends to poke a hole in the Polystyrene where the staple needs to go, causing a tear out. Customer review from arrowfastener.com logo
The T50ACD was easy to use and was reliable. I was a little nervous about trying an electric stapler, but now I will never go back to a manual one. Looking forward to doing many more projects with this! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
