What's the weight limit for this? I want to use this to make my propane firepit more mobile.

Depending on the strength of the bolts used and the thickness of the wood base, a 200 pound load should be supported substantially. If your pit is built from brick, you'd have to find another solution.

I had the same problem at first. Have another go at adjusting the levelers. They need to be just off the ground when the caster are engaged (levers down). And you need weight on the base to test it. Try putting one foot on it, pushing down pretty hard and trying to moving it.

When depressing the levers, do they stay locked to allow ease of rolling or does one need to keep...

Solid Kit To Build a Mobile Base
I bought the BORA Steel Universal Mobile Base Kit and the WEN Heavy Duty Mobile Base kit to compare them. I found the BORA kit to be more useful. With the BORA kit you have to build a wooden base platform (that's how it is constructed). With the WEN you don't have to build a bottom platform, but you probably will anyway b/c that's another 'shelf' to store things for whatever tool you're putting on the mobile base. BORA is more simple in design and took less time to build than the WEN. I also found the BORA to be easier to roll and maneuver (and it's quite vs the WEN with all of its metal clanging about. The only downside I have found for BORA is something others pointed out: If you are not using relatively thick wood for the platform, then the bolts they provide will drag on the floor. I had to double up my 1/2 inch plywood (to make it 1 inch)...that did the trick.

This is a well made mobile kit. I bought it to support a new drill press and the only thing I did wrong was laminate three pieces of 1/2 inch plywood. This depth was just thick enough to prevent the supplied hardware from catching a thread. So I had to purchase longer bolts then grind them off because they were just a smidge too long.

Love this wheel base.
I've found a new go-to wheel base for my heavy tools! This kit is super easy to work with and install, and works great. Supports a lot of different material widths and obviously is as "universal" as it gets for sizing. I'll be buying more of these when the need arises.

Easy to put together and install. Works very well. Buy these and make your whole shop mobile. If I had a wish I would make the wheels bigger but they work great just hard to roll over cords and the small drop off in the front of my garage. I highly recommend them. I bought three sets. Once I put the first one together it only took a few minutes to do the others.

Handles the load OK, but plan on bolting tool down to base otherwise is slides around on the steel corner plates. Have your metric tools ready. Thicker/stiffer base board will be good to minimize flex. 10 ply x 3/4" was minimal.

Past reviewers complained about screw length and the company seems to have responded, mine came with different length screws. It is wise to check the screw length before final assembly to be sure they will not hit the floor though... longer screws you can shorten easily, shorter screws can't be lengthened so not sure why people complained the screws were too long, that's the better option. I love this, I put my 5' drill press on it and it is very stable and easy to move around, wish I had done it years ago.
