Having used this micro torch for a few weeks on various projects, I can say that it is the first that I feel comfortable leaving ignited for long periods of time without worry that it is going to melt the housing. The torch melts glass, soft metals easily and burns even the lowest quality butane cleanly without the hint of a sputter; the fine point soldering tip has worked flawlessly while repairing USB contacts on flash drives, I/O ports on PCBs and other electronic projects; remove the soldering tip from the adapter and you have a mini heat gun that is great for removing decals and stickers or as I use it, heat double-sided tapes, pads or anything with glue before applying to ensure optimum adhesion. The housing feels solid and fits like it was made for my hand while the ridges around the housing allow for superb grip while adjusting the pitch and yaw with one hand; add in the stable flared base and this is the most comfortable and versatile micro torches I have ever used. The safety catch under the igniter button must be disengaged each time you use the torch and while this is great for safety, it can get annoying if you have no cause for concern that accidental ignitions will occur. Final observation, there is not the accustomed and expected rubber seal around the fill valve stem, as I discovered after creating my own seal I believe this to be by design and not an oversight. The tank on this micro torch beast is comparatively MASSIVE and the instructions say to fill until overflow occurs, a rubber seal would prevent overflow thus allowing overfilling of the tank causing the excess butane (which will actually still be liquid) to be forced out through the jets causing sputters, flame-outs or worse.

Bad ignition. Lasts a few months.
The reviews on Home Depot seem to be very different from Benzomatic's website, which has more mentions of the bad ignition. I bought this twice from Home Depot thinking the first one was randomly faulty. Yes it's easy to use, heats well, has a good price, and Bernzomatic even has videos for tips on ignition problems. Unfortunately this is just a bad product in my experience. I use this only for a few minutes on a daily basis for a few months, and the ignition just stops working. I bought one in 2018 and another in 2019 and both stopped working. I took great care of both purchases, never dropping them or touching the wire/burn pipe or using too hard, so I don't know what the problem is expect bad ignition.

Its a great soldering & hot air blowing tool yet even better when used as a standard torch. I give it a 5 star because Bernzomatic is a great brand especially their soldering solder! I do have to mention the tip has air vents that just end up burning everything around it. Its kinda of a bummer. The best ones would be the electrical soldering irons.

            Worked well...while it lasted
Primary issue: The ceramic that holds the igniter in place has deteriorated to the point that the igniter is loose and the flame no longer lights on its own. I don't use it daily, or roughly, and the device is well within the 3 year warranty period. It started to have issues yesterday. I noticed little white crumbles coming out of the tip, and i was like what is that...and after closer inspection it appears to be the ceramic that holds the igniter tip in place. Now the thing won't light at all. I try to be fair when assessing products but I do not feel that this device has been used anywhere near enough times this should be happening. Outside of lighting a half dozen fires and taking it camping once, that has literally been the extent of use over a year. And it does not appear that I can buy a replacement part? Even though I think it wore prematurely I am willing to replace it...but if no part is available I'm not buying another. I will try someone else's product.

I bought this to use in art applications and HD only had this model in the store and no butane canister in stock, had to go to another HD for that. Why I would not recommend it to others - if you need to use it, set it down, use it, set it down repeatedly, the child safety switch is really really inconvenient, having to click it on over and over again. And the switch itself is small, stiff, usually requiring two hands, as others have mentioned. Which will break first, my thumbnail or the switch? Now looking for a torch without this feature.

                Butane Micro Torch
This Butane Micro Torch is the perfect size for making jewelry. It is real easy to use and I can control the size of flame I need for specific jewelry pieces. It fits nicely in my hand. I love it!

Don't make them like they used to...
The first micro torch I bought 20 or so years ago . And it lasted about 18 years until an ex took her anger out on the best torch I've owned.. So I bought a new one and of course did not think I would have to worry about warranty or replacement but after first year and a half any butane I put in leaks right out it won't stop leaking .. so that's why gave it 2 stars not even close to the quality they used to be...

                  Junk igniter
Bought two of these torches, the first one lasted about 4 months, second one a little over 3 months. I have a cheap torch I’ve had for close to 14 years and it still clicks when I need it to. Improve the clicker and you’ll have a great torch

                    Can't refill torch
I bought this product about a year ago so I can't return it, I also bought the fuel refill. It has taken me this long to use enough fuel to require a refill. The torch won't accept the fuel. I did what the instructions told me to but no luck, I can fill my cigar lighter with the Bernzmatic fuel, no problem. I should have bought a disposal lighter. Would have been way less expensive.
