I am wondering if it is a repellent or does it leave a residual that will continue to kill? What I mean is does it have an odor that they don't like so they wont go through it?
Asked by: AndreaA
Does not have an odor. It's supposed to leave a residual amount that lasts a few weeks. Seems to work that way in my experience.

Is this safe to use in cabinets where dishes are stored after it dries?

Asked by: Merrimac
We've used it in cabinets with dishes and other stuff. Of course, we don't spray directly on the dishes and do let it dry before replacing them. Seems safe enough. Of course, there's no way to judge any long term effects but we're not worried.

Is this safe indoor around children while wet or dry on wood surfaces

Asked by: Neisy
Yes it's safe but don't over spray and allow it to completely dry and air before returning to the room.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best out there Every once in awhile, especially going into winter, we get gnats. Never been able to figure out where they come from. The last few years other sprays/foggers that used to do the trick in one treatment, seem to have gone down hill, and their product doesn't work, at all. Last week we picked up a can of the Bayer insect killer to try. When we got home, one quick spray killed even the huge gnats immediately. I also love that it's not harsh in odor, etc. Please, please, please... we beg you... put out an indoor fogger. This would be much more useful for situations like this. Just set it and go to work. All done and clear by the time we get home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Complete Control Over Pest Control I wanted a quick, effective and long-lasting way to get rid of pests, particularly ants, from my outdoor patio and wanted complete control over the area. The Home Pest Insect Killer Continuous Spray 15 oz. Sprayer from Bayer proved itself to be the best treatment and provided the coverage I was looking for in pest control...non-odorous and nonstaining. Any odor would have only antagonized my allergies, and if any product had the potential to stain, my home's new paint and the new stain on my fence could have been affected. Pest control works best when the home owner has control over the situation, thank you for giving me back the control over patio living. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very effective insecticide, but "continuous spray" is misleading My original review of this product was rejected, probably because it over-emphasized environmental concerns. So I'll just say that you must read and follow every word in the fine print on this product, even if (like me and everybody else) you've never done that before. Bayer has given all the necessary warnings, but it's up to us customers to read and follow them. Surely the censors won't object to my saying that. This product has one huge plus and one huge minus. The huge minus is that it is not a normal aerosol that sprays for as long as you hold down the button. That's what it looks like, and "continuous spray" on the label implies that it is, but that claim is misleading if not downright dishonest. This can has some other, unspecified kind of internal propellant that is temporarily activated by shaking. It sprays (actually a sharply focused and relatively weak stream, which is much better than a spray for this product, because it makes precise, tightly controlled application possible) for no more than ten seconds after each vigorous shaking, then it gradually slows to a dribble and then stops completely a few seconds later. So the continuous spray it promises is impossible. The only way to spray continuously would be to shake the can continuously, which would make it impossible to apply the insecticide with the care and precision required by the label instructions. So the true scenario is this: shake can for ten seconds, spray for ten seconds (before it starts to dribble), shake for ten, spray for ten, etc. It's a HUGE pain, and that alone would keep me from ever buying this product again... IF this weren't the most amazingly effective insecticide I have ever used. That's the huge plus. Like many in North America, I suffer each year from an increasingly relentless invasion of brown marmorated stink bugs, which sneaked into Pennsylvania from their home in eastern Asia a few years ago and are well on their way to taking over this continent. They have no predators here; supermarket pyrethroid insecticides kill them eventually, and so do no-pest strips which contain dichlorvos, but not before they've made their way through your house looking for a cozy spot to winter. I find their corpses in the most unlikely and distressing places. Even though I'm forced to keep all my windows closed on the typically lovely late summer and early fall days when they make their annual migration indoors (window screens seem to be no barrier at all), several dozen get through somehow anyway. They're not tiny bugs (about the size of a nickel), but somehow they get into the house through spaces even ants and mosquitoes can't get through. It's as if they dematerialize outside the window or door and then rematerialize once they're inside. If it weren't like living in a horror movie it would be fascinating. So (not really expecting anything to help) I applied this insecticide to just the seams around the outsides of the windows and doors the stink bugs use most often, and guess what... not ONE stink bug has gotten in since I did that! I still see them crawling around on the outsides of other windows, but they either avoid their usual entries or they die on contact before they get inside. Whatever is happening, I like it, and I will buy more of this product eagerly and gratefully if the stink bugs change their route into my house.
