Not exactly as Expected. I wanted to use it to remove random cedar shakes. I found the tools “shaft” way too thick to allow it to slip between the shingles. Once it was up to the nails the hooks that you use to pull the nails never gripped them and slid off.

undable to rip nails
This bar had one job. Rip nails out from under solid shingles by hooking them and ripping them out. In order to perform that action there has to be a cut out area where the bar meets the head of the ripper. This thing has no cut outs to grab any copper or stainless steel nails to grab and rip out from under the slate or Shake shingles. Thusly, the ripper head just slides off the nail and fails to perform it's one job.
Had to drill and grind the slots myself in order to make this work.

Excellent Tool!
We installed IronRidge FlashFoot2 solar rail mounts and this tool was perfect for loosening the shingles and shearing off any nails in the path of the flashing.

The tool was not grooved and sharpened. Would not work...

Disappointing, Doesn't pull most nails out. Slips off of nails. Bends nail and nail heads. I will modify tool so it gets a better grip under nail head.
