Window Float Valve

A:  The metal float control is attached by a nut. The outer part of the nut is six sided as I remember and is fairly shallow. You will need to hold this nut with needle nose pliers or other tool while turning the metal unit counterclockwise to take it off the nut. Alternatively, you can hold the inner portion of the metal unit while turning the outer nut counterclockwise. Once removed install the new unit with the float attached in the reverse order that you removed the old unit.

A:  Just remove the nut and washer and hose clamp/nut located on the outside of plastic housing (I had a hard time due to corrosion). the Nut is recessed into the housing so you will need a thin walled socket, or needle nose pliers, it took some time.
