Questions & Answers

Will Bonide Systemic Houseplant Insect Control Kill Praying Mantis'? Thanks
ByJan 9, 2025
1 Answer |
Answer This Question

If used according to the label instructions, Bonide's Systemic Houseplant Insect Control and Systemic Granules Insect Control will not kill Praying Mantis. Please be aware that the formula can kill some of their insect food sources. This could make it difficult for them to survive if other food sources or insects that are not impacted by this formula are not available to eat, such as spiders, worms and mites.

Will this harm butterflies or bees??
            ByApr 23, 2023
            1 Answer |
            Answer This Question

It will not harm the bees or butterflies if it is applied during a time when they are not active in the area and it has enough time to dry. Typically early morning or late evening is the best time to apply.

Hannita, I would wait 2 more months to ensure that the plant is fully established.

                Systemic Houseplant Insect Control 8oz
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was ok helped with the Nats and haven't seen anything but would have rather maybe had this in liquid form. Used it all not sure if I would repurchase in this form again ..didn't like the powder or container

                  Still hopeful
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Systemic Houseplant Insect Control didn’t work on my houseplant that was already infested with mealybugd but may work at preventing infestations.

                    Effective and easy to use.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used this product when I brought my houseplants indoors for the winter. It was easy to apply - just sprinkle on the dirt and stir in a bit. While my plants were not affected with any pests when I brought them in, the product seems to be doing it's job as I have not seen any pests. Did have a few fungus gnats, and the product seemed to curtail them from multiplying.

                      It does the work
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is helpful if your house plants have insects. I use it to prevent it from getting in them and it has worked so far. I will continue using it

No weird/potent smell, not sure of its insect controlling effect yet
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Influenster sent me this product for my honest opinion and review. This product is a bottle of small granules that you sprinkle onto the soil of indoor houseplants. Due to settling in shipment, the bottle was only half full. However, I believe there’s 8oz of content in it. The flip-top cap has two sides, one to spoon and one to sprinkle. Upon opening, I smelled it to see if it has an unpleasant smell. I didn’t smell much, it might’ve had a very slight chemical smell. I sprinkled it onto one of our plants. However, it’s not really insect season so I’m unable to see its results.

Working so far for fungus gnats
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So, I've heard of people using this by just sprinkling the recommended amount on top of the soil vs mixing it into the soil and then watering. I tried both ways and so far, I've not had a problem. My plants are still doing great and the fungus gnats I've been having a problem with for months have disappeared. Very happy with this product.

It helps get rid of most bugs
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It takes a bit to work. it's been three weeks and there's still a few thrips kicking around but not as much as before. The only think I dislike is that it can’t be used on edible plants.

                              My plant is much healthier
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I applied one up of granules two weeks ago. Since I have I’ve noticed I don’t have to water but once a week instead of every 3 days and that it has looked healthy and not as droopy as it was before using this plant treatment.

                                No more Gnots!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very good! After using it for couple of days I noticed that my plant is thriving and decreased amount of pests. Easy to use and I will definitely recommend it.

                                  It works
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We always have little bugs trying to get our plants here at our house and this worked. The only thing i dont like is its very toxic and worries me having kids and cats around it. But if interested just know it does work.
