Q:How does this stick to the wall like in the photos??

Answer This Question
A:Â Thank you for your question. The wall holder can be placed onto a screw head slightly projected out of a wall or the wall holder can be mounted to a 1/4" thread tripod.
by|Aug 9, 2016
A:Â It has a place on the back of the holder for a screw. You have to put a screw in the wall. That's what the instructions tell you to do, but you can tape it to the wall with masking tape, which works better and you don't have to patch a hole in the wall.
by|Oct 2, 2016
A:Â Yes it attaches with adhesive strips that hold it firmly in place and after you are done they remove easily by pulling on them. And there are pins that you can use to attach it to a wall that leave only 2 very tiny holes. There is also a keyhole screw mount too as well as a magnet.

I was looking for an upgrade to my Ryobi Air Grip Laser Level which has been great, it's just a bit old, but I've been using it for light jobs inside my house for years now. I love that my Ryobi suctions to walls with no damage, so when I came across this Bosch level on sale and saw the photos attached to the advert, I was really excited (what can I say, I love gadgets)! The photos on the box show a guy using the laser to evenly hang pictures and speakers (see attached images), so when UPS dropped the box off on my porch, I tore into it and rushed off to hang a series of framed blueprints in my office. Pictures - check; nails - check; hammer - check; spiffy new laser level - check check! Inner dialogue: "Yes, this is the height I want the pictures, so come on little Bosch, let's get you on the wall and get things going! Hmmm, how does this thing work, nothing but metal back here, what am I missing?". Messed around with the level, looked in the box again to see if I overlooked a special mount, double-checked the photos on said box, but still things weren't adding up. Ended up doing a Google search about this level to see if it was just me, but the number of people that were having the same "problem" was amazing. Turns out you need to use a nail or whatever to hang/mount the darn thing to use it as advertised - why on earth would I want to punch a nail hole in the wall every time I want to hang something inside my house?! So lame, but glad I'm not the only one who put faith in the photos and ended up looking like an idiot. Not sure of the strength/quality/visibility of the laser, etc or durability of the tool itself (dropping it from the top of a ladder, etc) as I never go to use it as I had hoped. Don't let this tool make a tool out of you - for those looking for a laser level to handle lightweight jobs inside the house, keep on looking.

Pretty good
I think it really is best that you use a tripod for this. The other annoyance was that the line was much shorter than I expected but other than that it is serving its purpose and I like the ease of use and sleek design.

Good for basic leveling and alignments
This is a great leveling and alignment tool for basic tasks. (Pictures, shelving, other objects on walls.) It is also useful for alignment work such as when you need to find a point on multiple surfaces. (Installing electrical outlet boxes in a room with multiple walls.)
The tool is easy to use and has a mount that allows you to hang the tool on the surface for leveling. The mount does require that you install a nail/screw/pushpin into the wall first, to allow the mount to hang. I prefer to just hold the mount on the wall to get my alignment line.
You can also mount it on a tripod but the setup is a bit more complicated as you have to make sure your tripod mount is properly level, and when it moves it needs to stay level. A bit complicated.
Of course, you can use the laser level without the mount, which was my preferred use. I used it for mounting pictures and boxes. See pictures.
The instructions are fairly detailed. It will take you a few tries, perhaps, to get used to its operation.
(Position of the tool is important.)
Overall, its a well-built tool, but certainly only for basic hanging tasks.

Bosch Line and Point Laser Level
Need a laser to hang my pictures on the stairway going to the 2nd story. Had about 8 pictures to hang and want them to be perfect lined going up the stairs. This made it a lot easier. Once I got the fist picture hung, I aline the beam to the right angle I want them, and just starting hanging the picture. It made it so easy. It has a quick and easy simple set up using quick leveling with bubble vial is easy to get level. All in all I'm happy with the unit.

Accurate, compact with dual laser indicators
First read the manual and follow all the safety precautions throughout.
This is both a standard level with horizontal and vertical bubble indicators and an accurate long range laser level. I also comes with the necessary 2 AAA batteries for operation so there's no delay getting started. It can be mounted to a wall, tripod or any metal surface with the imbedded magnet. The 3 position switch sends either a "spot" laser beam or a "line" laser beam from one end or the other. The middle position is off. Once mounted it is easy to level with the adjusting screw on the mount and using the bubble indicator on the level. There are instructions and pictured that help in leveling it with different mounts and different methods.

Useful Level for Home and Work
I've never used a laser level before so I wasn't sure of all the uses. I've used it at home to hang some frames on the wall. I also teach so I've used it on my whiteboard at school to draw straight lines. I also like the fact that you can attach it to a tripod to mark lines around the room. It would be useful for putting a line of tile or other border around a room.

How did I get along without this tool for so long?
This is must-have tool for hard-core DIY'ers. The laser level makes picture hanging, curtain rod installation, ceiling tile work and a host of other DIY tasks easier by far.
The tool is nicely constructed and easy to use. It comes with a magnetic base that clings to a mount that can be pinned to the wall. Once so mounted, the laser level can be pointed at any angle to create the red laser line along a wall. I recently put up curtain rods in our house after a major renovation that had removed all of the old curtain rods. I measured distance from the floor, put up one rod hanger at the end of a 20 foot run, lined up and leveled the laser level on the first rod hanger and then put up 5 additional hangers along the laser line. The result was perfect.
There are places where a conventional level is still a better tool but the more I use the laser level the less I have need for any other level.
