The bibb washer can be pulled off of the repair kit stem and used to get the valve to isolate. I left the packing washer from the Jameco in place because it looked a little different and was if fair condition. The kit packing washer may have worked but I didn't try it. The Jameco handle will not fit on the Brasscraft stem.
I'm not sure but if you only need the rubber washer and packing just check the BOB shaft and rubber washer size and switch just those parts. The kit is only about $3.
SA Thank you for your question. The BCSR01 repair kit is designed to repair the Brasscraft multi turn stop valves. They would not be guaranteed to work for a Teledyne part
This should work...depending on the exact valve I'm working on, I sometimes use the whole kit, and sometimes just a few of the parts....on some valves, it's better to reuse/refit the old stem with these new washers.....pay attention to the assembly order shown on the package.....And, it's a cheap kit....try it....!
Unscrew it. It may require a little pulling to get it out after unscrewing, and check to see if the old stem-end washer is left behind in the valve.
Hello-No, the BCSR01 is designed to work with our BrassCraft multi-turns. We would not recommend it being used inside another manufactures stop. If you have any questions, please contact our Customer Support Team at 877-272-7755.
Just installed in a 30 year old valve. Length was the same.
I've not looked, but probably there is....it's super-simple......the key is first, shutting the water pressure off at the incoming source or street.... after that, the other key is undoing BOTH the valve shaft and the shaft retainer nut at the same time so they don't jam....the little cap will come off before the valve is totally unscrewed...from there, it should be obvious how to do the repair....hope this helps...!
