A 4 x 4 hoop for embroidery, the embroidery attachment, all the regular feet and accessories. Screw driver, extra spindle for thread, extra bobbins, a dvd for learning. and a spool of bobbin thread for embroidery.
Sorry, can’t remember, but all you need to sew. One hoop, bobbin etc. had this just over a year and love it. There are plenty of sites to order starter packages. Enjoy, the price was fantastic!
Yes, this model allows you to download patterns.
It comes with a USB cord and you can put designs on it to embroider from you computer. It doesn't have much memory so you aren't able to load too many designs onto the machine. I just usually pick the pattern I want to embroider and load and make it. I do one at a time. Hope this answers your question.
110 volt only
Yes - Guatemala uses 110 volt, 60 cycle electricity, same as the US. Plugs in Guatemala typically accept the 2 pronged flat type - machine has this type plug. Will fit most all outlets in both countries and Mexico. Will not work with 210/220 here, there or anywhere. Nice machine!!!
110 Is what I use.
Yes
From what I have read, as long as your pattern calls for a Satin Stitch the machine should handle that stitch on any material as long as you have the correct thread and needle combination. I recommend you research how to best embroider on Terry cloth to get that combination.
Yes, you can embroider onto baby clothes as long as the piece can fit in the hoop properly. Your software question is much more involved. If you want to use any of the pre-existing patterns on the Brother machine, you don't need any software. If you want to download pre-existing machine embroidery patterns from the internet, you will not need need any software. If, however, you want to make your own patterns you will need what is called digitizing software. If you are technically savvy then you can try some free software such a SewArt and Bernina. I am currently creating my designs in Inkspace (free), digitizing them in SewArt (free trial then 75$) and correcting them in Bernina (free). If you want software that does everything for you, you will have to do some research and be willing to fork out some $$$. Googling 'digitizing for machine embroidery' should give you a good start on your search. Be aware that some software is geared only toward commercial use. Good luck!
Yes! You definitely can. It comes with some designs preloaded but you can also get designs online. Embroiderydesigns.com is probably my favorite. There’s also embroidery.com and urbanthreads.com just to name a very few. I believe brother gives you access to their design site as well. I don’t use it so I can’t say for sure. Just be sure any designs come in .pes format as that is what the brother machine reads.
The bobbin size is 7/16" (11.5mm) when looking at the bobbin from the side (where you can see the thread clearly) and 13/16" (21mm) when looking at it from the top. It is a Brother SA156.
I am a new user and posed a similar question to Brother Customer Support. They said that the embroidery function on this machine will do what your pattern tells it to do and thus your embroidery results are only as good as your pattern. I interpret that to mean that if your pattern calls for a blanket stitch, the machine should do that stitch. I have not tested this out though - I am just letting you know what Brother said. I recommend you try it out. Please let us know. Thanks.
The SE400 features 70 built-in embroidery designs. However, this unit does not have a blanket stitch.
