Will you remove and old air compressor?
    ByMar 18, 2024
    1 Answer |
    Answer This Question

Hello. We do not remove existing equipment, however did you know you might be able to use your old compressor as an expansion tank (i.e. auxiliary or reserve) air tank providing there are no tank leaks in the old system. A new compressor can be connected in parallel using a 2-to-1 Industrial air splitter (allowing both tanks to pressurize together) and this will enable a higher supply of air....works great for those jobs where a lot of air is required quickly!

The California Air Tool website says that the tank is "Non-ASME Air Tank." What does this mean?
          ByMay 8, 2023
          1 Answer |
          Answer This Question

ASME is a tank manufacturing certification standard related to product safety. All of our California Air Tools tanks are built to the ASME standard, but only our 60 Gallon units carry the ASME certification & welded stamp (i.e. 60040CAD, 60040DCAD & 60040DCADC). Our smaller units do not carry the certification/stamp. Within California, Cal/OSHA only requires a permit if the air compressor tank is 1.5 cubic feet (equal to 11.22 gallons) in volume or larger, OR when the safety valve is set greater than 150 pounds per square inch (psi). Tanks with less than 1.5 cubic feet of air AND less than 150 psi ARE EXEMPT. This applies to our products. NOTE: 10 gallon tank = 1.336 cubic feet The old rule <most regions> was if 2 or more employees work in the business, then a permit is required. 5 Year inspection renewal may required. For air compressors that are not ASME certified, we disclose: * Commercial Use: Refer to State & City Codes * Non-ASME Tank

I've read some concerns about the fatigue life of aluminum vs steel. I've also read people state that damage to the aluminum could result in a shrapnel explosion as opposed to a dented steel compressor container. Can someone expound on this?

Everything looked good as far as the shipping container was concerned but once I opened the box I found the Red knob on the pressure valve laying in the bottom of the box. Because I needed the compressor to complete a job I'm just living with it. The compressor fills up to 100 psi but I can't increase or decrease the air pressure until I fix the knob.

Works good, no problems yet but only been using for short time Tank pressure recovers quickly, plenty of air for my moderate needs. Also quieter than other air compressors I've used. Delivery worked out good they carried right in the garage for me. :)

Excellent compressor - the only thing I don't like is the auto drain system. Complicated for such a small issue. I didn't connect mine - I manually empty it. Easy.

Won’t rate it as wrong item sent. Was easy to return for refund but shouldn’t have had to.

My 120v air compressor kept tripping a 20 amp breaker, partially from a long run of underground #6 aluminum wire. This 240v compressor lowered the amperage and prevented me from having to bury a heavier wire. Happy it works as expected. Quiet and no air leakage.

                      Well-built and quiet
Great product, and SO much quieter than old Craftsman. Build quality excellent. Some minor thoughts: - Startup pressure unloader is loud - a short air blast each time motor starts. A small "muffler" consisting of a 2" rubber hose with some foam in the end fixed this. - Not nearly enough drain hose included to reach anywhere useful -- wish more was included. - Auto-drain air burst also loud. Wrapped the end of hose with urethane foam to silence - Only regulated air avail, no tank pressure QC
