I am not sure, as I did not use it over plywood. However, I believe moisture aids the curing process. Suggest you call Custom Building Products customer service line and ask them.

Can this product be sanded after it dries?

Yes, with a heavy grade say 80 or less. But, it is a filler patch, not something you would use to be exposed to view like on a finished concrete floor. IMO

Can it be used on to fill in previously painted wood paneling ?

If you are trying to fill in a gouge in wood paneling, I would not use this floor patch because it is overkill. I would use drywall mud or wood filler, both of which leave a smooth surface. This floor patch dries to a very rough, gray, granular surface that is hard as cement so if you make a mistake, you are stuck with it. I would use drywall mud because it is very forgiving and a damp cloth can be used to perfect the level. Once it is painted, you won't even see the patch. If you have removed the paint from the wood paneling and don't plan to re-paint it, then use wood filler chosen to match the color of the wood. It can be sanded to perfect the surface.

Finally, A Decent Product for Leveling Floors!
I hate using so called "self- leveling" products to smooth out unlevel concrete floors in preparation for laying tile. I followed another reviewers suggestion to remove some from the container so as not to contaminate the product with debris or allow it to begin the harden before use - this worked fine. I found this easy to trowel smooth to even out dips in the concrete flooring. It dried in about two hours, after which I applied a second coat to a few areas. After each application, I found the hardened product quite rough and with minor ridges, so I scraped with a 6 in 1 painter's tool and then sanded a little with a rough sanding sponge (wearing a face mask). This left a good surface for laying tile and was much easier to use than any self-leveling product I've ever used. Highly recommend!

I used this floor patch to repair the many flaws in a plywood subfloor before installing vinyl tiles. It was easy to apply and served the purpose well. After drying, I always scraped the patches with a wide putty knife then vacuumed before applying primer. The only thing I found out the hard way was to make sure you get a fresh pail because the first one I bought was already rather dried out so was granular and harder to apply. The second pail was creamy and much better.

I just had to laugh. Read the directions, folks!! This is NOT for self-leveling. This is NOT for filling deep holes (> 1/4") with only one application. And, this is NOT for creating a super-smooth surface! So many reviews show how the reviewers are blaming this patch for not being what it isn't meant to be! The directions make its correct usage very clear. What this is excellent for is filling small cracks and minor depressions over wood, concrete, ceramic tile, etc. It is sandy, so it won't provide a glassy surface like soupy self-leveling underlayment. But that's not what it's for! I used it to fill and level the wide grout lines in my kitchen and hallway ceramic floors before laying vinyl plank flooring over it (see photos). It applied easily using a 3" (dollar store!) putty knife. I used a large cottage cheese container as my working container, keeping the product bucket closed to prevent it from hardening. It worked very well! It spread smoothly and quickly. There is no offensive odor. Reviewers who say it dries very slowly just can't be right, unless they are piling it on way too thickly. I used an oscillating table fan on the floor to promote a fast set and it was hard in about 5 hours. The one downgrade I give this patch is that there will be some shrinkage. Even though the grout line depressions in my tile floor were definitely no deeper than 1/4", the patch did shrink just a bit - leaving a very slight depression, but nothing that should affect the vinyl plank flooring. So, if no depression whatsoever is desired, plan on applying a second coat. I used the putty knife to scrape off any clumps of patch I accidentally created to prevent them from causing lumps in the soft vinyl flooring over time. Overall I'm very satisfied and recommend this product, but only for the INTENDED uses in its directions, folks.

it works
Reading all these reviews after using this product is hilarious. I am a carpenter by trade but I don't feel that gives me any advantage over reading the instructions. This is made to "patch" a "minor dip or imprefection". It clearly states not to lay on more than a 1/4" of the mix at a time. You're also going to have a bad time if you are using this in place of Ardex (or any self leveling compound), That is not what this product is made for. Seeing pictures of people going to town with a belt sander or complaining that the hole was only a 1/2" deep just makes me smile, they probably still think it's all the products fault too.

Crossing fingers..............
I bought this to raise up plywood floor in my bathroom so I could lay down some vinyl plank flooring.. you can bet a BAG OF DONUTS its going to take more than four hours to dry.. Its been 24 now and its still a touch soft when I walk on it.. Im hoping now that is going to dry at all....Followed the directions to a t and even watched installation videos online.. Sandy consistency makes it very hard to smooth down, Ive been sanding it all morning with a belt sander hoping that is going to be smooth enough to lay down my flooring. This has made a weekend project a week long one.. Not a happy camper. Heres a photo, the dark areas are the not dry spots
