A:  Thank you for posting your inquiry. Providing that the tool has the proper amount of clearance (to fit in and around the work are), the finishing tools (contained in the ProCaulk kit) could be used to tool/smooth a bead of caulk/sealant in the joint interface as described (counter top to backsplash). Should you have any additional questions or require further assistance, please contact DAP’s Technical Customer Service Department at 888-327-8477.

A:  I think they revised them, the ones I just bought are rubbery and stretched over the tube end.

A:  I purchased the large professional caulk to fit my gun.

A:  I put the tips on one edge, pulled the opposite side over, then grabbed the tip at the base and twisted while pushing. The tips are very flexible and stretchy. Don't be afraid to stretch them, none of mine broke and they fit both large and small tube ends.

              by|Jul 1, 2020

A:  The 3 included caulk saving caps are designed to screw onto the caulk squeeze tube and keep the unused caulk from congealing in the squeeze tube. The caps are NOT designed to screw on the end of the tapered clear plastic tube. That you will need to clean after every use.

A:  You can use a nail that will cover the hold, but coat the nail with WD40. And install the nail in the hold.

A:  My caps are just rubber tops. They hold fairly securely if the caulk tube is stationary. They don't have an extremely firm hold if you move the tube around abruptly

              by|Jun 12, 2019

A:  The little red caulk saver caps worked just fine. One must make sure that that you don't cut off so much of the nozzle on the tube of caulk that you exceed the diameter of the caulk saver cap

                by|Feb 4, 2020

A:  Simple solution. Cut any 'finger' from a latex glove. Fit this over caulk tube nozzle. Now secure this 'finger' with a rubber band on the nozzle. Put tube in the caulk gun. Squeeze gun trigger slowly, enough to form a slight bulge in the 'finger'. Remove tube from gun. There you have it. Store at room temp. I have had success with caulking still usable up to a year!

A:  Thank you for posting your review. We're sorry to hear about your experience with the caps found in the DAP PRO Caulk Tool Kit. We are aware that the caps do not fit all cartridge nozzles, DAP is working to design a cap with better universal fitment for this kit.

The flat scrapers made the job super easy! I was scared to do the caulking on my backsplash because I have seen some terrible DIY caulk jobs on the past. But this kit made it a piece of cake!

Give your fingers a rest! This product will let you lay down a very professional looking bead of caulk with little effort. And your fingers and the skin on your hands will thank you. I especially like the variety of nozzle sizes in this package. The price, however, is a bit high for what you actually get in this package. But it's NOT too outrageous. IF you have always had problems getting your caulk (or adhesives) to end up where you WANT them too, or if you seem always to run out of material because the nozzle hole you made is a bit too large, check this product out.

We're sorry to hear about your experience with the DAP PRO Caulk Tool Kit. Because you did not provide any details regarding your experience, it is difficult to provide you with a proper reply or any product usage guidance. We are unclear as to your commentary indicating: "...one of my DAP products was dried out new out of the tube.", as the PRO Caulk Tool Kit does not contain a tube of caulk/sealant. At your convenience, please contact DAP’s Technical Customer Service Department at 888-327-8477 so that we can obtain some additional information from you regarding your experience. DAP

Almost didn't buy after reading all the one star reviews. it comes with many edge sizes which is very useful. The hardest part was to clean off the excess caulking off. Just need time and patience. There is a good tutorial on youtube by Charlie DIYte

                            It Depends on the Surface!
Let me start with what I don’t like about this pack: the price is a little high for it and the caulk remover is cheaply made as I already broke the tip on my first use. Unless the surface is totally flat, it will make a mess. If you use it on tile with large grout gaps and the trim side, the space between the tiles (grout) will have the caulk bleeding into it. Ok the good part: I used it for more than 20 times so far and it never fails on totally flat surfaces! For instance, I caulked between the wall and the counter top and it did a perfect line on the first try. Better than the pros! All of our walls are textured, so if we use the tool (any of the three) we will get a bumpy line. A little paint touch-up after the caulk has dried will fix it. Overall, this does save you a lot of taping time and gets the job done. Don’t run fast and don’t rush, slow and steady will get you better results. I tried dipping it in water to see if it will work better on the textured surfaces, but it didn’t work. Depending on the area we are working on, I always keep these three tools handy, a plastic cup of warm water to dip my finger in and run it across the bead, and my all-time favorite, the Husky caulking tool that has an aluminum edge for ripping and a soft edge for smoothing caulk. Again, depending on the area, we use the above solutions. Finger and warm water will never fail, just ensure its not soaking wet. Good luck!

The extended tip and the caps are fantastic, and to be honest, why I bought this set. The piece that helps smooth out the caulk is mediocre. But I’m old school and like using my finger!
