AnswerThere are different models of the flexvolt miter saw. I only checked the specifications/details for one, and it says: dust collection YES Probably all of the DeWalt miter saws are compatible with their dust extractors. I use mine with other brands of tools as well as DeWalt. There are adapters available for other hose diameters.
Will the vacuum hiccup to clean out the filters every 30 seconds even if you got perfectly clean filters and if not why?

AnswerYes it will. I believe it is set on a timer to automatically cycle every 30 minutes, regardless of the condition of the filters.

Minor issues
The DWV012 doesn't have as high of suction as my 6.5 HP Rigid shop vac but I knew that before I got the unit. I replaced the DWV012 hose with a 2.5" hose and used the connection to the vac from the DWV012. Simply unscrewed from the DWV012 hose and it slips nicely into the 2.5" hose end with a hose clamp to hold it place. I then ordered a replacement for this fitting to put back on the DWV012 hose, where I'll use that for palm sanders and other hand help tools with the 1.25" hose. The 2.5" hose fits into my miter saw, table saw, planer and band saw. The extra diameter hose does increase the draw significantly.
The reason I got the DWV012 was because when using my Rigid shop vac, the filter became clogged only after a short time with the canister being at least 95% empty. The auto filter cleaning on the DWV012 is a great feature and the auto on/off tool outlet is a nice addition.
I have no issues with the DWV012 black hose marking up anything. Must have been a bad batch of hoses or Dewalt changed vendors.
I did buy the wand and accessories for the 1.25" DWV012 hose but I might regret that since I'll have better results with the 2.5" hose but for the reduction in diameter at the vac.

Don’t waste your money.
Look at other brands. Connected it to 7” dewalt concrete grinder with all dewalt connections. Had to use a fan to clear out dust in room. It couldn’t keep up. Waste of money

Love it
I have had this unit for several mk t,has and it is a great shop addition. My only beef is the inability of Dewalt's service department to recommend a good fitting to join my DW421 sander to the hose. I called 3 times nd finally they recommended calling our local distributor....DOH.

This dewalt vac is the worst.
