Steel quality needs improvements
Customer review from dewalt.com logo
Only had them for a few months and was absolutely loving them... made pulling nails a breeze until I noticed decent sized chunks of metal missing at the teeth exposing what appears to be a poor quality casting.

I couldn't find my old end nippers anywhere, so needed to buy new ones. Saw this in HD and bought it. I am pulling up 2 layers of flooring, which left hundreds (probably over a 1000) staples stuck in hard wood flooring. I started using this (after struggling with channel locks) and flew through the project. The handles open nice and easy, so one hand operating is a breeze. The 2 different angles of the head make it easy to pull long staples with very little fatigue. The cutting edge provides excellent grip to pull the staples. The tool also has a nail pulling side (like a claw hammer). I find that it doesn't pull small flooring nails at all - the "blades" are too thick and thus don't get under the nail head. These might work for larger hails that are already sticking up a bit, but I dodn't find this part of the tool that useful. But overall, this was WELL worth the price I paid for it. It's solidly made, easy to handle, nice features and definetly worked well to get the job done. it's a super multi-tool !! I'm so glad I've added it to my tool collection. Even if I find my old nippers, I'll probably reach for this tool first now that it has proven itself to be so handy.

I recently worked in a house that need its flooring removed (worst I've ever seen). There were nails every 6 inches and staples in random places holding down some linoleum tiles. I bought these for the job since my other bullnose pliers were 6 inches and just too small for extended work. In the long run I used these for 8 hours of nail/staple pulling. They didn't break or dent, in fact they barely scratched.

(What's this)
The DEWALT DWHT75488 Ten inch End Nipper Pliers are a welcome addition to the workshop. To test I drove a three inch framing nail into a 4 inch piece of wood. I first placed the claw near the nail and pounded against the hardened strike face with a hammer to drive the claw under the head of the nail. The claw tips are sharp and bit into the wood nicely. Then I pried the nail up as far as the claw would extend. Then I switched over to the nippers to grab the nail and pry up using leverage from the curved surface of the product. The hardened jaw of the nippers has a nice sharp edge that grabbed the nail well. As I reached full extension I grabbed low and repeated until the nail was extracted. One thing I liked about this model is the wide jaw which allowed the long nail to rest next to the pivot joint without being obstructed. The coating on the handles is comfortable and helps improve grip.

This is an excellent tool for getting nails out, either from the front (or finishing nails) from the back. Very study, and since it is a DeWalt tool, you know the quality is there too.

I bought myself a knockoff pair before and wasn't happy with the fact that the top that is supposed to grab barbed wire staples, this one does. Quality pair. I used this type when I was young and had to work on a lot of fence, but now I find myself doing it again. Quality pair, would recommend
