I am building a project and decided it might be best to the build exterior section first and then route out a 3/4" rabbet inside to accept 3/4" wood as slats, second. I'm no router expert, but this doesn't look as though it's designed to do that, so perhaps I'll simply use the table saw to cut the edge off the wood before assembly. I checked the rest of the Home depot website and can't find another bit that looks like it would work? Any other suggestions? Thanks,

If you're trying to make a "pocket" for the slats to fit into, this isn't your bit. This one makes an L-shaped channel along the side of a board. Imagine the back side of a picture frame that has the recessed area for the glass and your picture. This bit will make that recess cut.

The bit is described as 1/2" in height which I think is the width of the cutting blades. Is that correct?

Could you tell me the depth of the cut that would be made from the bearing to the tips of the blades?
Asked by: windows
Bill is correct. The total diameter is 1 1/4 inches. The bearing is 1/2 inch. Difference is 3/4 inches. Divide that by two to get 3/8 inch cutting depth. The cutting height can be adjusted from very little up to a maximum of 1/2 inch.
