A: Hi! Thanks you for the inquiry! Yes, you can convert your 34-110 Rounding Over bit to a Beading bit by changing to a smaller bearing. In order to determine which bearing to use, please check to see if you have a Freud Quadra-Cut bit with 4 cutting edges, or a Freud Rounding Over bit with 2 cutting edges. If your bit is Quadra-Cut, you can replace the supplied bearing with a Freud 62-104 bearing with a ½” OD to achieve a beading profile. If your bit has 2 cutting edges, please use the Freud 62-102 bearing with 3/8” OD to convert to a beading profile. Once you change to the smaller bearing, your bit will produce a 1/16” inset bead.
A: Hello Ed, the DR34110 Rounding Over bit has two cutting edges.
A: Hi Lee, the bearing diameter is ½”. Thank you for reaching out!
A: Need to adjust your fence slightly.
A: Hi Dannyw001, Thank you for your question. As long as the board your are working with is truly 3/4" this bit should work, however I recommend making a test pass on a sacrificial piece of material before hand to make sure you don't have any issues. Hope this helps!
A: This bit would definitely work.
A: I did this today on a 3/4" piece of read oak. This bit worked awesome. If you wanted no flat middle part, you need to use a 3/8" radius bit.
