The product information states that this bit has a carbide height of 5/8". Therefore, it will not cut a 45° chamfer along the entire edge of ¾" material. It will only chamfer to a depth of 5/8".

What to use to groove hardi board
Hi John! Diablo Chamfer bits are not recommended for routing fiber cement products like Hardie Board. You will get best results if you use PCD-tipped bits (polycrystalline diamond) for routing this material. I am not sure these are available in the market in a chamfer profile. If not, you may want to consider ripping the chamfer using Diablo’s D0704DH PCD-tipped Hardieblade.

Hello, we would not recommend using carbide tipped router bits on fiber cement siding.
Is this a 45-degree chamfer?
No. It is slightly greater than 45 degrees. Enough to notice when joined with another chamfered edge for it to be out of square.

If you are working with 3/4" plywood, would this bit allow you to cut a miter across the 3/4" board thickness (resulting in a miter face with a 1 and 1/16" hypotenuse? If not, what is the thickest plywood for which this bit will cut a 45-degree miter?
Hello Marco! The DR40106 Chamfer bit has a cutting height of 5/8”, so it will not rout a miter the full thickness of ¾” plywood. With a careful setup it will rout the full thickness of 5/8” plywood.
