Great bargain & price for these feather drills. I bought one (1" inch) single drill for $5.97 in the store, got back home & realized you could could get 8 separate feather drills ( ranging in size from 3/8" - 1") for $9.97!! So needless to say I ordered this set online & returned the original 1" bit back to the store.

Crappiest Spade Bits Ever !!!!!
I thought these were quality bits ..I've used Spade paddle bits for over 40 years and was very excited about trying these ...well my excitement turned to hatred by the time I tried to drill one simple hole in my project ...the bits will bite down in drilling I used a 1/2 Milwaukee hammer drill in drill position and they will about break your wrist when biting trying to go through...the hole was rough and destroyed $40 in work wasted....I threw the whole pack in the garbage ..Where they belong..

Chews through hardwood like gum
I wore out and dulled several spade bits by Ryobi and DeWalt before researching the best ones. I was making TP Holders out of hardwood tree branches and needed to bore a hole for the tube holder in about 30sets. Bosch and Milwaukee came back as best, but I needed something available in-store and I've had good experience with Diablo's other products and these advertised chewing through wood, and they do! I read the other reviews about finite details and that holds true, but I put holes through ironwood in seconds after smoking the motor on my drill with a dull spade prior to. These bits chewed through every branch like soft bubble gum, accurately centered and without having to push. These bits suck themselves right through the wood, nice and clean. I sanded lightly afterwards and beautiful! Definitely listen when people say they chew straight through wood - they're insane, and they've stayed sharp. I ordered the Bosch because they came in two additional sizes I needed, but these worked extremely well.

Prefect match with a impact driver
Drilling a hole through a 2x4 with a impact driver is a perfect match, the self-pulling feature requires no input from my arm. I am happy with this purchase.

Great price on the set.

Rough work only
These apparently are intended for rough work only as they rip through the wood at the surface and leave a very rough and unfinished hole (see photo).

Seemed like a good idea, but the auger tip actually is not the best. If you have dry 2x4s and there is any kind of crack or split in it, these bits will probably split the 2x4 because the auger tip is pretty big and it just drives in like a huge screw and splits the wood. Also, for the larger bits like the 1.5" one, it almost killed my big daddy 18V Ridgid cordless hammer drill as it couldn't handle it because the auger tip pulls the bit in too fast and it can't cut fast enough, and my drill is a big daddy so I was surprised it stopped. So overall they seemed like a good idea but didn't actually work out that way. But for smaller bits and solid wood where cracks/splitting is not a worry, these bits do cut really fast and effortlessly because the bit pulls itself through, you barely have to push on the drill. But overall I returned them and got the 17pc Irwin Speedbor set for $16.99 at a different HW store so I don't have to worry about splitting 2x4s and my drill can handle any size bit no problem.

would not recommend
The worn one is a week old, broke in three days and been using it with a drill then finaly bought a new three pack for the stubby 1”. The new one did a total of 10 holes untill it broke and the piece is stuck in my impact
