1-Light Weathered Bronze Frosted Glass Outdoor Wall Lantern Sconce

This awful styrofoam packaging should be illegal, returning item immediately. Took me 20 minutes to clean all the static cling foam mess out of my garage and off my clothes. It's not bronze, it's an ugly rough rusty looking finish, at least it wont be noticible when it rusts after the first good rain. Support is not welded to the backplate, there is a cheap nut holding it together. I'm surprised it even came assembled. 1/10 stars.

Simple, but classic design goes with several home styles. Easy to install. I thought the frosted glass would limit the brightness of this sconce, but it doesn't affect the amount of light that shines. Available in 2 sizes.

The builder’s grade old brass door lights were looking old and tired. I replaced them with this attractive weathered bronze finished wall mount exterior light that is about nine inches tall and 7 inches wide. The design is clean and simple with metal top and bottom plates and three thin side pieces. The frosted glass globe adds to the overall clean look of the unit. To install, secure the wall mounting plate to the junction box, make the white, black, and ground electrical connections with the supplied wire nuts, thread the mounting screws through the wall plate and slip the light over the mounting screws. To secure the round mounting base to the wall plate you use two supplied thumb button screws caps. Next you place the frosted globe into the unit and secure with a white porcelain collar. Overall, about 10 minutes start to finish including removing the old light. The light looks great both on and off. The light is rated for a 60 watt light, I used a 60 watt equivalent LED bulb and it produced plenty of diffused light through the frosted globe. Overall, a fairly economical upgrade to your outdoor lighting that adds a classic look.

The 1-light Weathered bronze frosted glass outdoor wall mount sconce is lightweight compared to the 10 year old sconce in the front of the house. The color of the sconce is more of a matte Hershey Kiss chocolate brown than bronze; the texture of the fixture is indeed weathered and slightly coarse. I also like being able to use LED bulbs and having a frosted shade to tone down the light. It looks fairly easy to install, but haven't had the chance to install just yet due to rain showers.

I have a number of similar fixtures around my home and they are not standing up very well. This fixture, however, is much higher quality and appears to be capable of lasting a long time. The post to cover mount is sturdy. The swivel bar that goes on the electrical box is strong and even has a set screws to lock it in position. I have not seen that on other lights and it will help the fixture stay in the proper position. I will be changing to this fixture as my other ones fail.

We had an old 1970's patio light that time hasn't been good to. It was beat up and falling apart. This DSI 1-Light Weathered Bronze Frosted Glass Outdoor Wall Mount Sconce was a great choice to replace that old one. It is made from steel with a weathered bronze finish, so it fits the look of many old or new houses. I chose it in particular for the look, but also because it uses a standard sized bulb, so we can use a standard sized LED bulb in it. We've come to love the new LED bulbs, and have switched most of the lights in our house to the new technology for the energy savings and longevity. Since you can select various brightness levels and light colors for those bulbs, this fixture will suit just about any need you have for lighting the outside of your home. Thanks DSI, and Home Depot!
