Excellent Design, Gteat product
My bath does not have seperate shutoff valves. Once I sweat in the plumbing to this valve I coud shut off these valves built into this rough in fixture and turn on the water source to the rest of my home.
This allowed me to complete this project with water still available to my home.

Recommended Necessity
Simple installation as long as you have the right fittings. Not exactly for the typical DIY'er as it involves making 100% watertight plumbing connections. For remodel construction, fittings required will depend on your existing plumbing. I was able to use "Sharkbite" fittings to make the transition from existing tubing to threaded connections. More expensive to use the "Sharkbites" but much easier and less labor.

Great product. Easy installation.
Screw the valve into a piece of plywood or secure on some surface to tighten female pipe adaption into diverter. I used "Sioux Chief Model # HD647-CG2 Internet # 205058319 Store 1/2 in. Lead Free Brass Slip x FIP Adapter" female brass to cpvc transitions, worked great. The Delta Arzo Model 17, fit great and looks very classy. Delta is best quality.
Also a Price Phister diverter for the outlet control is installed inline below.

Great! I love it!
Set the temperature once, then each time all you have to do is turn the water on. Once you learn to sweat solder its a piece of cake to install. It can also be installed using threaded fittings but I think soldering it is easier. The instructions were easy to follow with lots of pictures. I did the work myself.
