This rake is well made and lightweight. Perfect for its intended purpose. This is not something to rake your lawn with. It folds down nicely to a narrow width for easy storage. And, it opens up to a wide swath, albeit with the times pretty far apart, to cover a broad area of the roof lightly while scrapping off the debris. I like that it, and all the Docapole line that I'm aware of uses a universal threaded fit. This allows me to use non-Docapole branded poles of which I have a couple of short, single length ones for special purposes with all my Docapole attachments. And, non-Docapole branded attachments with my Docapoles. Like my paint rollers! I hate proprietary products that won't interchange. That's usually a sign that the manufacturer can't compete and likes to ensure large mark up pricing for their product line. I'm willing to pay top dollar for best quality but, they've got to earn it not demand it by making their products incompatible with others on the market. I have two Docapole extension poles and various Docapole attachments. I wanted to add this rake to my arsenal for a single, specialized purpose: To pull the redwood tree bracts and duff that drop off the giant redwoods at each end of my house off my 45 degree pitched (not walkable!), 21' high peaked roof. The branches and leaves slide down the steep roof, get stuck on the gutter and build up into a pile all summer. To the point of being a fire hazard if we have blowing embers in the area, which have twice in the past three summers.. And mostly, I wanted to do as much as possible using my 30' Docapole fully extended so that I didn't have to stand on a ladder while manipulating a long extension pole with a rake on the end.. Well, this rake did the trick. With the pole fully extended I can reach up on the roof from the ground with a very low angle between the rake and the roof pitch and just pull the bracts and leaves off onto the ground, where they are easily picked up. But, I don't use this rake to pick them up off the ground.

This rake attachment is a great idea, I can adjust it to a width to fit the valleys on my roof and pull down all the leaves from the ground so I do not need to dig out the ladder and get on the roof. Then I can slide the rake head to a wide sweep and pull the leaves off of the metal roof panels on the garage. I also have some very tall pecan trees so I can put the rake on the extension pole and get the pecans that are up over 30 feet in the air, the rake head can be adjusted at any angle for any limb positions. Some of the more narrow width adjustments work great in the flower beds.

I received the Docapole's adjustable rake just in time to start cleaning autumn leaves, sticks and debris from my roof. The rake is a nice addition to the Docapole family of products that uses the Docapole's unique telescoping pole. It was very well constructed and I liked the feature that allows the rake tines to be adjusted from narrow to wide and the fact that they are not so wide to be awkward when used with the extended pole. I was able to rake most of the leaves from the roof using the telescoping pole, but it was not very effective in removing leaves and debris pulled into the gutters because I couldn't get any leverage being below the gutters. For that reason, the attachment didn't quite meet my expectations.

I initially got this to help pull branches and debris off my roof. It easily screws on to the end of my adjustable docapole. The rake is infinitely adjustable between the narrowest and widest settings. This is going to really come in handy for raking of leaves out of my gardens and flowerbeds. The fact that the connection is threaded and locks in with the thumbscrew means it is not going anywhere. See the pictures I have attached below as I show it in narrow, medium, and wide settings. I also show a close-up of the adjustment lever. It appears to be well-built and should last quite a while.

This roof rake attachment fits any DocaPole pole. I have an extendable version, and it easily screws into the pole creating an extendable rake in seconds. Out of the box, the rake was retracted into its smallest form. The rake tines can be expanded or contracted to create various rake widths, which is a useful feature. The tines are locked with a lever locking mechanism to prevent them from extending or contracting once set and locked. However, the tines seem to like to get stuck in the retracted or smallest position. It took a few minutes of wiggling and adjusting individual tines to get the rake to expand. For me, the two tines on the outside edges of the rake were the two giving me the most trouble. After a few minutes, the tines glide much easier, as shown in the video. Overall, this is a useful rake and the adjustable head is good. However, when fully expanded, the tines are quite far apart and can miss smaller leaves. The tines, likely because they're adjustable, are rather thin which makes them flex way more than I'm used to. I'm afraid to use the rake for anything other than small areas because it doesn't feel sturdy enough to handle large or wet leaves.

As soon as I saw this product, I thought it was exactly what I'd been needing for years to clear the roof of my shed. I already had a Docapole, which honestly isn't that revolutionary, as it uses a standard screw connection used for all push brushes on the market, but I'd never seen a rake attachment. I was really hoping to love this product, but it let me down. First thing, right out of the box, the mechanism for extending the rake from its storage position was jammed, making it extremely difficult to get the rake open. I even bent one of the rake tines trying to get it unjammed. Once I got it open and attached it to the Docapole, I found that it wasn't going to be as effective as I'd hoped in clearing my roof. The problem is there's all sorts of flex in the system, so the minute you pull down on the rake while it's above your head, the attachment points bend, meaning you lose a lot of leverage. I found that the base of the rake would drag harder across the roof than the rake itself, because it was all bent out of shape as I pulled. Overall, I'd give this product a passing grade. It got the job done, but it wasn't that easy to use, and it seems the entire Docapole design may be flawed. I had a similar experience when using a brush extension. There's just too much flex and wobble in the system.

I already own the DocaPole 5ft to 12ft Extension pole and was looking for different attachments to connect to this. I was excited to see DocaPole offered the roof rake attachment! However, I had to give this 3 stars out of 5, since it does NOT adjust from 7.5" to 20" as stated. If you look at the pictures, I have it in the unlocked position (lever up), but when I try to bring the black band (clamp) forward towards the tines, it does not budge. If you look closely, you can see the tines appear to be in a "fixed" state. So, from here on, I can only use this as a mini-rake. I have sheds in the backyard that sit fairly close to the fence, and clearing out the leaves that gather in that space is difficult, and a regular rake cannot be used. The narrow spread of this rake is perfect to get into those hard-to-reach areas, and the extension pole allows me to reach all the way to the fence wall. The rake is built very well since I was aggressive in cleaning out that area and the rake took it like a champ. Clearing this area each Fall prevents the leaves from resting there, thus retaining moisture, and prevents the metal shed walls from rusting. I had a bunch of pine needles that gathered around my home's vent pipe. Instead of getting the ladder out and going up to clear it by hand, I just took out this extension pole with rake attachment and pulled the pine needles down - super easy! Using this setup is so much safer than using a ladder! Fastening the rake attachment is simple - just screw it on the extension pole and fasten the wing nut/set screw so it won't move around on ya.

Ordered the adjustable Rake Head Attachment for my Doca Pole primarily to clean pine needles off the roof of my pavilion without having to get up on the roof. The rake head comes fully assembled and ready to install on the pole. The rake width can be adjusted from about 8 to 20 inches for various applications via a lockable sliding mechanism. The unit is constructed of lightweight aluminum and composite material. The lightweight construction is important since the Doca Pole (that can extend up to 30 feet) is not particularly light especially when extended. The aluminum material is durable and rust resistant. The rake head quickly and easily attaches to the Doca pole and is locked in place with a thumb screw. I found the fixed angle of the rake head when fully widened to not be optimum for cleaning pine needles off the roof so a means to adjust the angle would be a useful enhancement. I am generally satisfied with the quality and additional capability the rake head adds to my Doca Pole.

Got this accessory for a 12 foot Docapole and am very impressed with the quality. The whole thing is well made, some plastic bits, but mostly what appears to be stainless steel. The overall dimension are 23 inches by 8 inches, so the tines are quite close set. The tines also feature flattened heads which makes it more effective. I have already used it for a couple of things sort of out of the ordinary - getting a disk toy and a baseball cap off the roof, and for removing a vine that had grown up into a large shrub. Did all tasks easily, and I didn't have to get out a ladder. Super handy item to have around.

This review is for the DocaZoo Doca Pole Adjustable Roof Rake, item # 90492-85003. The primary use for this model of rake is for a roof rake and at which it may well function very well. But since my roof is 25 feet off the ground, I got this rake for specific other purposes. This rake appears very well made of 15 steel tines that measure about 17.5 inches in length, the tip being flattened to provide for rake surface. The spread of the tines can be adjusted from 7.5 inches closed to 20 inches wide open. The lock down bar is 3.5 inches long and does firmly lock the rake against the pole base. Once unlocked, it is a fluid motion to open the rake to its widest opening. The overall length of this rake head is 23 inches. I say head, because this rake does not come with a screw in pole. This company provides a choice of their poles to use, but it's apparent that any 5' pole from a box store will work fine. I think if you choose the DocaZoo pole, you will be getting a quality pole to match the quality of this rake head. Now to use this item for what we really got it for; to rake out and make look nice all the rugs in our home. It's weird, but it looks great, and this is the perfect tool to use for doing that. A well-made product for multiple uses.
