Good Looking Staircase. Sturdy. But it's steep
I remodeled my condo and tore out a dated spiral staircase. After getting quotes from many contractors for 3x the cost of this staircase I opted to purchase this myself. I was nervous about purchasing this product because it had no reviews (that's why I'm writing this one for you), but the other ones by this company seemed to be good so I clicked "buy". I hired a handyman crew of 3 guys to install this and it took them 4-5 hours. If you are a DIYer you better be strong and really good because there are so many times during the installation that they needed one guy to hold the support and another guy to secure the steps. The stairs look gorgeous and have added value to my LA condo, however the staircase is very steep. I don't recommend it for young children or elderly people. The modular feature is cool because you can swing it left or right and it hugs a semi-circular wall very well leaving me more of an open space in my small condo. The steps are sturdy, but they are raw wood, as are the rails. I just bought a polyurethane coating from home depot that I just painted on and now has a nice glossy sheen and is easier to clean. Installation Tip: The steps are in a Triangular-Crescent shape. You must configure the modular steps in the direction that you want them before you start the installation and bolting things down or you are in for some serious pain. My (independently hired) handymen started putting the steps together, after the reading the instructions, first bolting the steel support to the ground with a commercial drill, not sure how an average person would have these tool lying around but anyhow...they began to fasten the steps on and then when they went to install the railing realized that you can ONLY fasten the rails to ONE side of the crescent shaped step (the Blundt side). So they had to pull apart the entire steel back bone and turn several of the steps around to accommodate the rails. You have to decide which foot you start stepping on first and alternate from there. Hope that helps.

This is a nice looking modular staircase when complete that...
This is a nice looking modular staircase when complete that is very challenging for one guy to assemble perfectly - think Nokia on steroids. Almost no instruction material just a thirteen minute YouTube video with no narrative, limited hours access help line which is not available on Friday afternoons or weekends. Kit seems straight forward but requires very exacting tolerances when assembling stair frame or else your balustrades will not line up with the hand rail. Cable tensioner fittings are poor quality and may strip out easily. Need stainless steel cable cutters, bracing to support while building.
