Questions & Answers

can this be used to safely heat a basement, without the dangers of CO2?

Asked by: Mike
It is unquestionably a BAD idea to use this Heater in a closed or semi-closed area. It produces up to 60,000 BTU's. That is far beyond a safe level of CO2 created by that much combustion. However; those that would caution not to have any burning of Gas in a closed area, are disregarding the fact that Gas Stoves and Ranges are often used with Oven and Top Burners all simultaneously. This is actually common at Holiday seasons, without triggering CO2 detectors.
