Likely the threads are not the cause. If not already tried, put Vaseline on both sides of the gasket. Mine is sticking, making it difficult to loosen.
Check to make sure the pickup tube in the tank is connected & that you have enough liquid in the tank .

It does have a fan tip but I would not recommend for a large area to spray since it does leak is prone to breaking and if you're not in tip top shape, pumping more often is a problem you will run into.
Return the sprayer. Relief should have been installed.
I used a water based concrete sealer with no problem.
The plunger cups were improperly manufactured. Call 800-253-4642 and tell Debbie you need the right plunger cup
As acetone is extremely flammable, I would seriously recommend NOT spraying it. I personally cannot see a reason to spray acetone anyway.
