About This Product

The EcoPure no mess whole home water filtration system (EPWHE) installs on your incoming water line to protect your plumbing and water using appliances from sediment, dirt, sand, silt and chlorine taste and odor. The patented Flow and Capture Technology (FACT) delivers cleaner, better tasting water without flow reduction and allows the filter to last up to 6 months - twice as long as most other whole home filters. This system is designed for both well and municipal water supplies and has a micron rating of 5. Five micron filter - the lower the micron rating the more particles or contaminants removed by a whole house filter. There is no need to turn off the water supply for filter changes and its unique pivotal design allows for a tool-free, easy filter change in just minutes. The encapsulated filter captures dirt and contaminants so there is no need to touch the used, dirty filter media. Includes: system, 6 month filter (EPWHEF), mounting bracket, adaptors, clips and vent tube and installation instructions. Questions. Call the EcoPure helpline at (800) 693-1138 or visit ecopure.com.

A:  This is a disappointing product. The workers tried to install it in the kitchen without success, because the water could not be discharged, so this thing has been lying in my utility room. Can I return it?

      by|Apr 25, 2020

A:  I had a plumber install this whole home water filter as I believe it needs to be tied into the water line. At my home (I have hard well water), I change the filter every 6 months. I've had my whole house water filter system for several years now and I love it. The replacement filter is super easy to change out (just lift up on the main unit) and it shuts off the water and allows you to change the filter without having to manually shut off water.

Q:I was thinking of installing this and a water softner but I will skip if I don’t have to!

        Answer This Question

A:  This system will filter out sediment in your water and reduce chlorine taste & odor, but does not soften the water. If your water also contains hardness minerals or iron, a water softener can be used along with this filter.

        by|Mar 18, 2020

A:  No this is just a charcoal filter

          by|Mar 18, 2020

A:  This unit only filters particulates, down to pretty small fines, but will not remove minerals or change the pH of your water. Only a water softener can do that. If you install the EcoPure, it should be installed after the incoming water has passed through the softener but before it goes to the household pipes. We have both since we are on a well.

Q:Is it necessary to install the pressure relief tubing? My Plumber just installed this unit and put in a bypass valve also.

              Answer This Question

A:  The pressure relief tubing allows the vented water to be directed to a nearby drain when replacing the filter. If the tubing is not installed and the unit is depressurized, the vented water (approximately 4 oz.) will simply spill onto the floor.

Whole-House Water Filter You Could Stick In The Corner With Your Water Heater
I requested this whole-house water filter to replace an existing unit that just wasn't cutting it and was much larger in the space it took up in my basement. This unit by comparison gives me clean tasting drinking water with no foul smell and takes up so little space in my basement that I could almost forget it is even there. The replacement filter for this product is also easy to remove and replace and doesn't require any special disposal. Overall, I am very pleased with this whole-house water filtration system.

                  Affordable quality water filter system!
I've been looking for an affordable whole house water filtration system for my well-water supplied cottage. This unit fit the bill and has very welcomed features! See pictures for details. 1) The unit is easy to mount 2) The filter can be replaced (every 6 months) without having to shut off your water supply(by-pass feature) 3) Can be used for municipal or well water. Filters sediment, dirt, rust and sand which is common to wells. 4) Has a carbon filtration for better tasting water- filters chlorine taste & odor common to city water. 5) Filter life is up to 6 months which is a lot longer than most other filters and has a micron rating of 5. We used "lag" style stainless anchors which keeps the bracket and unit off the cinderblock which tends to get damp at my cottage. The vent tubing provided is only about 6 ft long so plan accordingly when you mount the unit because you need to direct the tubing downward into a floor drain, laundry tub, or some other sort of drain point. When replacing the filter, water pressure inside the unit is relieved and about 4 ounces of water will be expelled through the vent port into your drain. I tested all of my faucets and toilets and it has not decreased the water pressure at all. The replacement filters can be purchased at Home Depot (part #EPWHEF) and are $49.99 each. That price is a little high but since you shouldn't have to replace the filter as often as other systems, this price seems acceptable. Keep your installation manual since it contains troubleshooting information and manufacturers toll-free number to order replacement parts or to ask questions. (1-800-693-1138).

Great solution for whole house filter
This is a well made and compact whole house filter, with a very quick and easy filter change process. The total expense will depend on how simple (or complicated) your installation is. It might cost you a few bucks for some PVC pipe and fittings, or you might be out a couple hundred bucks for a plumber. In my situation the existing pipes were exposed and accessible near the water softener, so it wasn't too hard. I had a little trouble getting a water tight seal on the included threaded inlet / outlet fittings, the solution there was to use a lot more Teflon tape to ensure a good seal. Overall the installation took about 40 minutes and total materials cost was under $15 (for some PVC primer and cement and a few fittings). From now on when my refrigerator tells me to change its expensive water filter cartridge every 30 days, I can ignore it - the whole house has filtered water.

                    Carbon
This filter starts leaving carbon in toilet tanks after only 1 month of use. My tanks have always been clean but not they get black non soluble black in tanks. Not happy this this system at all.

                      Teflon Tape
Several buyers refer to the amount of Teflon Tape that has to be used. Please explain what the Teflon tape is and does it come with the product? I'm taking this filter out of the country so I need to have ALL THE ESSENTIALS. Are there any other items I MUST obtain as well?
