If you have tons of money and do not mind buying these every year, then purchase these. These are not for people on average incomes. For Christmas, 2017 I bought 4 rolls of these lights. When I went to put them out in 2018 only 2 still worked. I bought two more rolls and put them out. When I went to put them out for Christmas 2019, only 1 worked. I purchased 3 more rolls and made sure that I put them up very carefully. I got them out today and only 1 roll works. The life expectancy of these are about 1 year. No more for me.

Finally a set that keeps out the water, and thus prevents freeze-thaw cycles at the brittle leads! The socketing system is much nicer than unsealed cheaper bayonet socket styles with integrated diffusing heads. This has a screw-on top (diffuser) above the socketed bulb, and a sealed bottom below. I had no problems with the 3 sets of this type I used this year. The only down sides I experienced were (a) having to ensure all light covers were fully screwed on (150 per string), and (b) the total of 5 sets I purchased had spare fuses and a red LED and a green LED, but no covers and no purple, yellow, or blue LEDs. This socketing system is superior to the typical bayonet style (not this), where the bottom where the wires come into the socket is not sealed and water would get in and freeze and thaw, eventually causing failures of one or more bulbs within a few weeks. The eventual failure would often show up by a substring of 50 going out and, upon checking every bulb, finding one or more with a lead broken off right at be base of the bulb and the socket wet inside from previous rain or melting ice. Just before taking down the lights this year after about 3 weeks' use, I had no trouble with the Ecosmart 150 sets, but one of my slightly older unsealed bayonet socket types had a 50 LED substring fail with 4 out of 50 leds failed because one of the fine wires had broken off at the LED's encasing plastic. It takes about 45 minutes to pull 50 bulbs of that type, test them, replace the failed ones and put them back into their string, so the mini lights are turning into a time saver by saving maintenance.

Nice, warm color for an inside tree; today’s super bright led lights are good for outside but if you use them inside you need sunglasses if you put a lot of lights on a tree like me. They seem to be heavy duty and the spools that they come with make deconstructing the Christmas tree hassle free.

Before changing to the Ecosmart brand of LED light strings, we had annual frustrations because lights purchased in the prior one or two years were already malfunctioning, as in 1/3 of the light string suddenly did not work. I learned the hard way that paying for the better quality of Ecosmart in year 1 is rewarded in years 2, 3, etc. The difficulty of finding this brand during end-of-season sales is a testament to the number of other people who have found the reliability worth the cost!
