I purchased this garden fork in the spring and had high hopes for it because it does look and fee...
I purchased this garden fork in the spring and had high hopes for it because it does look and feel very sturdy, but alas the handle broke before I even made it through the season. I do put them to heavy use all season, in this case I dug over about 3000 sq ft before it broke. But in the end it lasted just the same as much cheaper forks. The handle appears to be fairly oak or similar wood with a fairly large and porous grain, which isn't really a very good choice for the handle of a tool. I plan to replace the handle, but given the cost of the tool this isn't what I expected to be doing already the first year.

The "contractor grade" short fork with fiberglass handle that I owned failed completely at the handle, making the investment worthless -and as added injury there was no way to fix the composite handle. So I opted to upgrade to the all wood handle stainless steel digging fork for a replacement. Bonus points from the S.O. who fell in love with the beautiful workmanship.

Although I've only used it for a couple of weeks, it's clear this fork is made to a high standard, with quality materials and tight tolerances. My goal was to get something that wouldn't wobble and break after a season or two, and this looks promising because the metal sleeve is so long and tightly fitted and the stainless steel won't rust.
